Back To School Beauty

Amber Stevens
Back to school make-up should be kept simple, there's no reason to go too over the top! Amber Stevens is a great example of how to use make-up to enhance your features and get a nice glow that will last all day. Amber even paired the look with a chic bun complete with two wispy hairs on the side. All you need to recreate the look is foundation (if needed), pencil eyeliner, mascara, a nude lipstick and gloss, and a rosy blush. As for the hair you may need a sock bun, a ponytail holder, and a comb or brush.
  1. Begin with a clean face and apply concealer and foundation if needed.
  2. Start with the blush and apply it right on the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards.
  3. Take the eyeliner and line your waterline very lightly. Make a medium-sized line right by your lash line. *Adding a cat-eye will give the look a bit of drama.
  4. Apply the nude lipsticks and add some shine by applying a gloss on top.
  5. Pull your hair up into a ponytail and pull your sock bun through. Be sure to secure the bun so it doesn't fall off!
  6. Pull out two strands of hair and even curl them for an even more feminine look.
Rock this look if your all about a fast, easy, but chic and cute look for back to school!

OOTD: Sugar and Spice

It's all about sugar and spice in this outfit which I can easily dress down or dress up. All you need is a change of accessories and a few pieces clothing and you can do this with any outfit! I love the dainty sweetness of the top while the black skirt and studded shorts both help to give it an edge.

The black fitted skirt adds a dressed up look to the casual, flowy top which means you can wear this outfit to any semi-formal event. The tan oxfords keeping the dainty vibe of the shirt while the necklace and earrings give off a soft and girly look.

The back of the shirt is what makes me fall in love because of the way it ruffles and flows with the wind without too much going on. The big messy bun I put in hair is super easy to create and helps to accentuate the round neck line and ruffles of the shirt.
Dressing down a look is never too hard thanks to denim! I wanted to keep the sugar and spice look so I paired the top with studded shorts and kept the shoes and earrings the same. The only other change would be the necklace since it has a chain detail that goes with the studs on the shorts. This look is great for summer and can also look good with long jeans.

As you can see this casual top can be dressed up and down. Plus it can be worn super cropped to show of the belly or pulled lower down to stay conservative. The Sugar and Spice top can be found at sugarlipsapparel.com. Sugar Lips has a great variety of clothes and helps support us fashion bloggers!

Health: Fruits, Veggies, and Water

Health is the center of all beauty and will only improve what you naturally have.Try trading in your unhealthy snacks, chips, candy, etc. and grab some grapes or an apple! Be sure to add a side of vegetables to your dinner and lunch instead of always getting french fries. Now, some people might think fruits and vegetables are disgusting, but you never know until you try. Fruits actually have natural sugars that can taste quite sweet while different vegetables all have unique tastes. Don't forget to add a glass of water to your meals! Drinking water and eating fruits and veggies will do major help with our skin and energy. Just try it and see the results!

Must Have Friday: Everyday Dresses

Must Have: Everyday Dresses

I don't know about you, but I love to rock a dress every once in a while just to feel fun and girly. However, some dresses are too much for just a casual day so you have to know which fabric and style to get. The perfect everyday is usually made of a light cotton fabric, but there are exceptations such as a silk, the dress is also a bit simple meaning there's not too much glitter or sparkle. The accessories you pair with the dress can also determine the "everyday wear" factor so keep it a bit minimal by pairing it with small rings, bracelets, and earrings. The shoes can still be heels or tennis shoes, whatever is appropriate to you.
How do you rock your everyday dresses?

Thanks to a Youtube guru Daven Mayeda I now have a new tip to give all the short-haired girls! Instead o using thousands of clips and pins which peek through the hair and take away from the style itself, just braid everything that won't fit. All you need to know how to do is braid dircetly to your head which is actually fot easy to learn and there are thousands of tutorials ouot there! The braiding will help eliminate massive amounts of clips, add a touch of edginess and personality to your look, as well as get all the hair you want into your hairstyle. Go try out some new hairstyles my short-haired chicas!

Teen Choice Awards 2012 Fashion

The Teen Choice Awards 2012  appeared Sunday and the celebs looked amazing! The majority of dresses were super girly and a-line while some ladies went for edgy looks and even separates. Keep on reading to see some of my favorite looks!
Lucy Hale

\
Selena Gomez

Lucy Hale and Selena Gomez both rocked the feminine girly looks in bright colors and a-line styles. The neckline in Lucy Hale's dress is super flirty as well as her flowing sude braid. The bright pink against Selena's skin keeps her glowing and the minimal accessories makes her hair and make-up stand out even more.
Kat Graham
As you may have figured out Kat Graham is one of my top style crushes! I love her mix of edgy, girly, and quirky in this look. The pattern of her dress keeps you interested while the necklace adds a touch of shine. Kat knows to keep her hair and makeup simple since her outfit is doing all the wonderful talking!

Kristen Stewart
Nina Dobrev
Kristen Stewart and Nina Dobrev kept it edgy and chic. Kristen wore separates include a crisp blazer and leather pants although her hair caught my attention. I love the waves and the slick side with braids. Nina 's dress was totally cool because of the asymmetrical lines and slit.  Nina's silver shoes and two hair twists kept the look soft and not too harsh.
Chelsea Kane
Chelsea Kane's outfit was a total love for me! She was definitely summertime fine and made the soft pastel colors stand out. Chelsea's hair also made my eyes go all over her because althoug it soft it simple, it is also very versatile and chic. Chelsea Kane is getting a lot of style cred lately!
Jackson Rathbone
Last but not least I had to add Jackson Rathbone! Although I normally don't feature guy fashion (I'm not the best at it) I fell in love with Jackson's outfit. His look is so crisp and clean while still having a cool edge. The bracelets, slighty unbuttoned shirt, and dark wash jeans is the perfect combo! Take some notes fellas!

Love Her Style: Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd's style has had an amazing whirlwind style-wise in my head. Every outfit Cher wear is so unique, effortless, and totally cool, it also helps that she's a beautiful girl! Cher always keep its comfortable but rocking by trading in heels for a pair of sneakers, combat boots, or an edgy flat. As for pants she can usually be found wearing high-waisted shorts, leather pants, or printed skinny jeans! I especially love her colorful top with a cutout and collar and how she transformed the baseball jersey into a top! No matter long or short Cher wears her hair in a natural, messy wave paired with dramatic make-up complete with big lashes and lipstick.

I love her style and she has inspired new outfit creations in my own wardrobe. Cher will definitely be re-appearing in get the looks and whatever else she inspires! Whose style do you love?

Must Have Friday: So Pretty Nails

Must Have: So Pretty Nails

Bright neon nails and beautiful ombre designs are such a trend for nail polish fans. I am currently loving Essie's new lines of nail polish, although they did chip very fast on my nails. I personally have been really into light blue polishes as well as a blend of coral/pink nail colors. I also have been wanting to try the Ciate brand of nail polishes, I have seen tons of bloggers and YouTube gurus talking about them! My own nails have been in a momentary retirement from lots of designs because too much nail polish remover and lots of painting can cause your nails to get weak and start peeling which is not pretty. Don't worry though, I am definitely trying out a new ombre design and a few other nail tricks that I will be sure to post about!

How To: Picture Perfect Make-up

Kendall Jenner Clothes
Kendall and Kylie Jenner
Many posts ago I talked about how to achieve the picture perfect pose, but what about the make-up? Usually most people like to take a picture with natural make-up that enhances their features and hides blemishes, although that may sound easy to do it sometimes is not. No one wants to have cakey foundation in a picture or so much mascara that it make your eyes look ridiculously small. Kendall and Kylie Jenner's make-up looks flawless in pictures while still looking real, take these tips to find out how.
  1. Begin the day before by cleansing your skin and prepping it to be as blemish free as possible.
  2. On the day of start with your face clean and conceal any necessary areas. Use  a buildable foundation so that you avoid putting on too much, but can still add if you have on too little.
  3. Wether your going for a bronze look or just a simple flush, take a blush brush and brush from the apples of your cheeks up to your temples. Blend it into your skin because you DO NOT want too much.
  4. To get major eye definition in your photo draw a thin line with a black eyeliner next to your lashline as well as on your waterline. Put 1-2 coats of mascara on to lengthen your lashes.
  5. Your brows are what frame your face so take a shadow close to your hair color and brush it across your brows to add power.
  6. Lastly your want to amp up your lips with a coat of gloss or get colorful with a lipstain.

Hair 101: Rihanna Rapunzel

Rihanna's rapunzel like braid is so majestic and gorgeous, you could even mistake it for a mermaid braid! This braid works for medium to long hair and is great for when you want to jazz up your look. It is also perfect for summer since it will help pull your hair out of your face. All you need is to know how braid and french braid, a comb and brush, a ponytail holder, and bobby pins.

  1. Begin by detangling and brushing your hair. It's better if you use a side part, but a middle part will work too.
  2. Take one side and begin french braiding to the edges of your hair until you reach the nape of your neck, some hair may not be braided. Secure the braid with a bobby pin.
  3. Take the remaining hair and french braid to the edge of your hair until you reach a little past your ear meeting the other braid. Secure with bobby pins.
  4. Bring both braids together and mix the loose hair together creating a side braid. Secure the braid with a ponytail holder.
  5. Brush the hair down to make it smooth and put on a cute pair of earrings to make the look pop!

Claire's Accessories Haul

My mom went shopping and brought me back the accessories above which are all from Claire's. As you can see I really love gold jewelry and owls. The first pair of owl earrings make such a statement and although they may look heavy, they are actually quite light. I personally cannot stand heavy earrings so I make sure to get the ones marked "sensitive solutions". The next two photos are actually multiple earrings which is a great deal! You can easily go from studs to dangly earrings in all different styles and colors. Lastly, I finally got a gold earcuff and I love it! It makes a gorgeous statement with my ear and the gold chains just hang so perfectly to me. I can't wait to start rocking my new accessories. Thanks Mom :)

Get The Look: Simple Glam

Selena Gomez
Simple looks with hints of sparkle and glamour are always showstopping! Selena Gomez is mixing beachy waves with minimal make-up and glitzy earrings. All you need to recreate this look is a curling iron, pink lipgloss, black liner,  mascara or false lashes, and big earrings.
  1. Begin with a clean face and apply concealer and foundation as needed.
  2. Line your waterline with black liner as well as a medium-thick line on your lash line.
  3. Apply long, thick false lashes to add major definition and impact to your eyes.
  4. Coat your lips with a pink lipgloss. You can even mix it up with a nude or red lip color!
As for the hair have your brush, comb, curling iron, and hairspray in hand. These waves will work and look best on medium to long hair. Remember to have clips to seperate your hair while your curling!
  1. Begin by seperating your hair into sections so all of your hair gets curled.
  2. Start from the back and wrap your hair around the curling iron and hold for 3-5 seconds. Do not brush or comb your curls until your entire head is finished.
  3. When you get to the top of your head, straighten the hair until the tip of your ear then curl the remaining length of the hair.
  4. Finger comb through the curls to create looser waves and brush the top of the hair for the complete Selena Gomez look.
  5. Spray the hair with hairspray so the curls will last all day.

Fashion 101: Blake Lively

I love surfing through pictures of Blake Lively, she always dresses fabulously and is her own stylist! This white dress is so classy and chic while not looking too old. The length is perfect for a special occassion where you don't want to show too much skin and the sleeves add flair.  The sparkly low-heel shoes, the dress accent, and the ring and bracelet look very magnificent and give a very classic vibe. The beachy waves and soft barely there makeup allow the outfit to stand out even more.

What do you think about Blake Lively's outfit?

Must Have Friday: Tumblr and Steve Madden

I have been on Tumblr a lot lately and it actually does help to inspire me and show me new looks and styles! Dip dyed hair and crazy hair dye is really cool even though there is a 99% chance that I will never do such a risky change to my hair. The purple ombre dip dye was so beautiful to me and if I could, I would so it had to go on my must haves. Once again I havve an ear cuff o my must have list. I am really looking forward to finding the perfect ear cuff, I would really like one in gold with lots of chains and sparkles. Check out my Tumblr page here.

I had to save the best for last! I am craving these Steve Madden STUDLY GOLD loafers! The spikes totally give the shoes edge while the soft gold color adds a touch of softness and femininity. The shoes will look great with jeans as well as skirts and dresses. I actually saw these shoes at Dillard's, but they did not have my size to try on, however I am still on the hunt for these lovely shoes!

Fashion 101: Summer Days, Nghts, and Dates

Summer days, nights, dates all require cute outfits that also breath and aren't too tight. I love looking at outfit ideas, but sometimes they don't cater to all types of styles, so the three outfit ideas shown include cute and girly, boho and glam, as well as edgy cool.

Bella Thorne - Cute N' Girly

Bella Thorne has such a sweetheart look in this cutout, sweetheart neckline, a-line dress. Since the dress is made of loose, light material it makes it great for the summer heat and doesn't look too over the top for a date. A great bonus is that a dress like this is great for accessories such as a statement ring or necklace, plus cute standout shoes!

Kim Kardashian Clothes
Kim Kardashian - Boho Glam
Kim Kardashian is rocking a boho glam look shows just how great mixing styles can be. The look is loose and carefree while the belt and heels adds a more polished touch. This look is perfection for a hot day or if you need to pull together a quick outfit.  If your more into just boho look try adding a braided or more worn belt, a pair of Grecian wedges or sandals, and instead the sparkly accessories go for more rustic pieces.

Miley Cyrus - Edgy Cool
And for the girls who love the edgy cool look, Miley Cyrus is the best example! High-waisted shorts, cutoffs, or any type of shorts paired with a rocker tee or tied up shirt like Miley's works great to get this look. It is good  for summer  because your legs are out which will look super long because of the shorts and your are out too. Just bring a cute jacket or vest in case it starts to get breezy at night.

Trend Alert: Spikes and Studs

Spikes and studs are EVERYWERE! They are so edgy, yet so glam and gives off the coolest look in an outfit. Spikes and studs can work on girly styles too which will help add edge and toughness. The best part about studs and spikes is that you can either buy items that already have the details, or you can DIY them own. Sutds and spikes look best when they are on accessories in your outfit such as shoes, bracelets, bags, and even a vest or jacket, maybe even a hat! Although I did not post the piture of spiked shoes I have been eyeing, I will reveal them on Must Have Friday.

Are you into the spikes and studs trend?

DIY Nails: All About The Polish

It's Mani Monday and time to talk about nail polish. There are so many nail polish shades, colors, stickers, shatters, and so much more! Personal preference plays a roll in picking a great nail polish, but so does skin tone and sometimes even nail length. Your nail polish color can have so much more impact than you think, it can tell your favorite color, wether your into dark or light colors, or if your  into lots of sparkle and glitz. Here's some tips to picking out the best color for you!

  1. Chipped Nails! If your always concerned about chipped polish you may want to try polishes in pearly, nude, or beige shades. Even if the polish chips you won't be able to tell and you can dress up the colors with cute designs.
  2. Bright Colors! No matter your skin tone, bright polishes always appear bright. They stand out best if you normally wear neutral colors, but they still work if you always rock lots of color.
  3. Sparkles! Sparkly and glitter nail polishes may look pretty in the bottles, but sometimes they don't come out exactly right. Don't be afraid to open the bottle in the store to see just how light or heavy the specks of glitter really are.
  4. Application! Nail polish looks best when it is applied correctly. Coat the polish once directly in the middle of the nail, then one time on the right and left side.
  5. Stickers! Nail stickers from just about every brand do amazing things! They come in designs, prints, and bold colors that make your nails dazzles.

Fashion 101: The Flared Jean

Rachel Zoe Resort Wear 2012

Sofia Vergara
Alessandra Ambrosio
Flared jeans are back in style and taking the place of only wearing skinny jeans 24/7. Flared jeans comein such a variety, they can go from retro 70's style to just a slight flare to show off nice peep toe heels. There is even a skinny flare style of jean that mixes skinny jeans and flare jeans together, Alessandra Ambrosio's jeans are the best example of this style. Flared jeans work on all body types, a wide flare is great for tall girls while a more slimming flare works for short girls. A higher rise flare jeans shows off hips and creates lovely curves. Confidence Booster #10

Everyone has a time when they are feeling down on themselves or just not very confident. The best way to fix the problem is by making a list or telling yourself all the positive, good, and exciting things about yourself. Wether it's that you have breathtaking eyes, are the captain of the basketball team, or passed your driving test, it doesn't matter unless the fact is happy and good. Talking to yourself or thinking about positive things in your life is not concieted or arrogant, unless it is a constant situation, it helps to remind you how great you really are. Sometimes it takes the things we already know about ourselves, but tend to not think about that really make us happy and confidence.

Here's a list of positive things about myself:
  1. I have 215 followeers on my blog who always give great feedback and comments.
  2. My skin is beginning to get clearer and my hair is almost the length I would like.
  3. I am finally developing my own personal style that I love.
  4. I am the president of my class.
  5. I  feel genuinely confident about myself.

Must Have Friday: Gorgeous Hair

Must Have: Gorgeous Hair

Gorgeous hair is a must have for me and guess what? I finally have it! I actully went to the hair dresser and got a relazer, trim, and my hair flat-ironed. My hair was 12 weeks post relaxer, the longest I hae ever waited, and my hair now feels lighter and I can see my scalp again. The back of my hair is now completely past my shoulders and the front is a little over inch past my collar bone. My next hair goal is for it to be just as healthy and at armpit length. I am so happy with my hair that I even added Farrah Fawcett curls in the front! I took pictures, but I am not able to post them yet but they will be ASAP!

How is you hair going?
