Beauty 101: My Summer Skincare Staples

Summer Skincare Products

  1. For the past 5-6 weeks, I have been using the Clinique Acne Solutions products. These products have done wonders with controlling my occasional breakouts and oiliness of my skin. This product is especially useful for the summer heat which causes me to sweat even more by removing the excess oils and bacteria.
  2. A self-controlled exfoliator is a great product for anyone with oily skin, dark spots, or just feels like their skin needs some rejuvenation. With an exfoliating pad or brush, you can more easily control the harshness of the brush which can be a big factor for people with sensitive skin. During the high temps, skin can get clogged with oil and an exfoliator can clean up all those pores!
  3. A nice moisturizer is needed all year long to keep skin protected from the sun with built in sunscreen and hydrated. I like to use Neutrogena Visibly Even, both the everyday moisturizer and BB Cream when I want some coverage, to keep my skin looking fresh with a little glow.
  4. I have recently (recently as of yesterday) purchased African Black Soap in order to control the slight breakouts I have noticed appearing of my shoulders. Multiple reviews state that the black soap will help control and rid of the acne with the use of natural ingredients that will control my skin's oiliness and the pre-existing problem spots.

Beauty 101: Top 4 Warm Weather Essentials

Top 4 Warm Weather Essentials

  1. SPF/Sunscreen! SPF protects your skin from the harmful rays of the sun and prevents skin diseases such as skin cancer. Not only do you need to wear SPF to the beach, but also remember to apply it whenever your outdoors during the warm weather seasons.
  2. Chapstick! Chapstick is like sunscreen for the lips and helps to keep them soft, smooth, and protected. Chapped lips are just not a good look and they and they begin to hurt if you don't apply chapstick to keep them looking good.
  3. Exfoliator! During the summer there so much sweat and oil build up in your skin that you need to exfoliate with an exfoliating cream or brush to open up clogged pores filled with nasty bacteria. However, you only want to exfoliate one to two times a week so your skin doesn't become weak from over-exfoliating.
  4. Moisturizer! Although the weather is heating up and your skin is getting oilier, you still want to apply a moisturizer with the right ingredients to nurture  your skin and keep it looking it best.

Beauty Tip #4

Wipe your face girlies! After a long day of hands touching your face, sweat, and of course make-up, your face has been through an ultimate dirt war. Keep your face clean throughout the day by using rice paper to absorb the extra oil or a facial wipe that doesn't remove make-up and moisturizers. The cleaner you keep your face, the better your skin will look and feel. Your make-up will also look better on cleaner, clearer skin. And do not just concentrate on your face, but your entire body by using moisturizing lotions and staying away from  very hot showers which can dry out your skin. Lovely skin is a must all year long, and especially since spring and summer are coming!
