Trend Alert: Love of the Crop Top

Crop tops have made their way back from the 90's and are going to be a hit in the summer time! At first I felt that crop tops were just a little too revealing, but now I've learned the many different ways of styling the crop top to make it look perfect for you. Below are some of my favorite crop top looks and why they caught my eye.
Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba is always a fashion fave because of her subtle chicness. I love the sleek sophistication to this look and the peep of skin helps to make this look more interesting instead an ordinary all black ensemble.
Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens has the boho look down pat which means crop tops are a necessity in her closet. What I love about her crop top look is the pretty feminine feel it gives along with the lace. Since it's a crop top you don't have to worry about the lace becoming too "old lady" or childish which is absolutely perfect.

Miley Cyrus
Summertime is all about fun patterns and bright colors which is why I'm really digging Miley's fitted crop top. It really shows off her figure and can be worn for a casual day out with anything from high waisted shorts, a skirt, to skinny jeans. You can also pair a fitted and patterned crop with so many looks from edgy to girly with the right accessories which makes it very versatile.
Selena Gomez
Lastly, Selena Gomez is on my list because I absolutely love this fun. girly look. A bustier crop top can instantly become racy if not paired correctly, but with this high waisted, a line skirt all you can get is girliness. Plus Selena's simple waves and Barbie pink heels keep the look very appropriate.

Confidence 101: Embrace Your Features

Tyra Banks
I, like Tyra Banks, have a fie finger forehead along with a curvy backside. Most people would think those to features are features that I would try to cover up, but I don't because I choose to embrace them. Tyra Banks shows off how she embraces her forehead by place a fabulously big bun right beside it. Everyone one of your features such as big eyes, small lips, a fuller nose, toned legs make us unique. Showing off your features shows your confidence, but don't take "showing off" too literally, you should still keep it classy! Keep reading to find out how to show off some of your features.

  • If your legs are a top feature of yours, try wearing wedges to make them appear more tone or match the color of your shoes with your pants to make your legs look longer.
  • If you love your face, pull your hair back into a ponytail or updo and show it off!
  • If you love your waist, try a peplum top or high-waisted bottoms.
  • If you love your eyes, try accentuating them with a few coats of mascara or try out winged liner.
  • If you love your butt, try out colorful jeans and if your butt is smaller try jeans with special details on the pockets.
Want to know how to show off your unqiue feature, just ask below! How do you embrace and show off your features?

Confidence Booster #9

Amber Riley
Body image has a major impact on anyones confidence. Body image does not just deal with weight, but how a person sees themself in the mirror despite what everyone else thinks. The best confidence booster for dealing with body image is to spend time just looking at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that your are beautiful, smart, and unique, after a while you will begin to hear those words in your head everyday and it feels great. Also, find one body part that you love and find a way to make it stand out and look great. I love the Body Peace campaign that Seventeen Magazine is a part of which girls pose appropriately in their bikins with a pink peace sign showing on their favorite body part. I love this campaign because it is showing girls to love their skin their in, even celebrities like Glee's Amber Riley are a part of Body Peace. Remember to love the skin your in because everyone is beautiful.

I am no affiliated nor associated with Seventeen Magazine any way.All opinions of the Body Peace campaign are my own.
