Confidence 101: No Makeup, No Worries

Demi Lovato
I believe that being able to go out without any makeup is a key to confidence. It shows that your proud of your natural beauty and know how to embrace it. Plus, even if your the biggest makeup lover your skin needs time to breath and refresh itself which means a day or so without makeup. Also, since it's gradually becoming warmer it's time to slow down on the foundation and other products that will sweat off and go for more natural looks. However, don't take me to literally, I do mean to at least brush/comb your hair and keep your face washed! I challenge my readers to pick one day out of the week to go completely natural and embrace it! (I usually go au naturale on Wednesday just because it's the middle of the week)
How long can you go without makeup?

Confidence 101: No Comparison

Joan Smalls - Cocktails For The HSN & Universal Pictures Snow White & The Huntsman Collection Launch
Joan Smalls
So the Victoria Secret fashion show was last night so of course there were many tweet pics and Instagram shots of all the angels. I love looking at the bedazzled bras, jeweled panties, luxurious hair and make-up, but it kills me to see all the comments about not being nearly as pretty as the models. It's not just last night that I noticed this reoccurring issue, but I constantly see photos of celebrities with captions about never being able to look as good or even saying how it makes them feel ugly. Now of course celebs are pretty, I happen to think Joan Smalls is drop dead gorgeous, but it shouldn't make your feel down on yourself because your pretty too. Each and everyone of us has at least one unique thing about us that no one else does which means we have to stop comparing our appearances, personalities, skills, and everything else to other people. Comparing kills your own self-esteem and confidence, own what you have and work it. Trust me you will start to feel so much more self-confidence and stop worrying about what you don't have and others do.

What's unique about yourself and how do you rock it? Let me know in the comments below!

Confidence 101: Be Daring

Heidi Klum and Seal
Okay so you you may already know who this is or read the caption, but this is Heidi Klum and Seal... as crows. Halloween, fall festivals, and the entire month of October is about dressing up and completely embracing the theme of fall and dress up. Instead of playing it safe or going the sexy route, be daring and take it all the way with a totally unique idea! Now, you don't need to dress up as a crow, but try going outside your box and stepping out of your comfort zone. If you don't celebrate Halloween, try something new with your everyday fashion since everyone is dressing up anyways! Be daring this October and boost up your confidence.

Confidence Booster: Speak Up

Brittney Spears
Confidence comes from so many places and voicing your opinion is one of them.  I can personally tell you that no matter how cute your outfit is, how smart you are, or how friendly you have to speak up for anyone to notice you. For example, Brittney Spears looks so confident on the USA X-Factor when she is telling her opinion and the truth. I'm not saying to become the loudest and craziest person in the room, but instead of letting everyone else have their say or never getting a chance to show what you really want, try speaking up! Speaking up will definitely boost your confidence even if no one takes your advice, but either way your voice will be heard.

Remember fashion and beauty is nothing without a does of confidence

Confidence 101: Embrace Your Features

Tyra Banks
I, like Tyra Banks, have a fie finger forehead along with a curvy backside. Most people would think those to features are features that I would try to cover up, but I don't because I choose to embrace them. Tyra Banks shows off how she embraces her forehead by place a fabulously big bun right beside it. Everyone one of your features such as big eyes, small lips, a fuller nose, toned legs make us unique. Showing off your features shows your confidence, but don't take "showing off" too literally, you should still keep it classy! Keep reading to find out how to show off some of your features.

  • If your legs are a top feature of yours, try wearing wedges to make them appear more tone or match the color of your shoes with your pants to make your legs look longer.
  • If you love your face, pull your hair back into a ponytail or updo and show it off!
  • If you love your waist, try a peplum top or high-waisted bottoms.
  • If you love your eyes, try accentuating them with a few coats of mascara or try out winged liner.
  • If you love your butt, try out colorful jeans and if your butt is smaller try jeans with special details on the pockets.
Want to know how to show off your unqiue feature, just ask below! How do you embrace and show off your features?

Back To School Confidence

Shay Mitchell
Being confident is very important especially when your going to be making first impressions on your teachers, making new friends, going to a new school or even starting off in college! All you need to do is stand tall, smile, and try greeting people you do and don't know. Coming prepared will also help to make you feel more cofident just because you know that you have everything you need. Having a planner marked with all your important dates and your backpack filled with your supplies will take a load off your back for the entire year! School confidence will come naturally if you maintain a postive attitude with your peers and teachers, stay prepared, and just have fun meeting new people!

What do you do to gain school confidence?

Confidence Booster #10

Everyone has a time when they are feeling down on themselves or just not very confident. The best way to fix the problem is by making a list or telling yourself all the positive, good, and exciting things about yourself. Wether it's that you have breathtaking eyes, are the captain of the basketball team, or passed your driving test, it doesn't matter unless the fact is happy and good. Talking to yourself or thinking about positive things in your life is not concieted or arrogant, unless it is a constant situation, it helps to remind you how great you really are. Sometimes it takes the things we already know about ourselves, but tend to not think about that really make us happy and confidence.

Here's a list of positive things about myself:
  1. I have 215 followeers on my blog who always give great feedback and comments.
  2. My skin is beginning to get clearer and my hair is almost the length I would like.
  3. I am finally developing my own personal style that I love.
  4. I am the president of my class.
  5. I  feel genuinely confident about myself.

Confidence Booster #9

Amber Riley
Body image has a major impact on anyones confidence. Body image does not just deal with weight, but how a person sees themself in the mirror despite what everyone else thinks. The best confidence booster for dealing with body image is to spend time just looking at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that your are beautiful, smart, and unique, after a while you will begin to hear those words in your head everyday and it feels great. Also, find one body part that you love and find a way to make it stand out and look great. I love the Body Peace campaign that Seventeen Magazine is a part of which girls pose appropriately in their bikins with a pink peace sign showing on their favorite body part. I love this campaign because it is showing girls to love their skin their in, even celebrities like Glee's Amber Riley are a part of Body Peace. Remember to love the skin your in because everyone is beautiful.

I am no affiliated nor associated with Seventeen Magazine any way.All opinions of the Body Peace campaign are my own.

Confidence Booster #8

Jordin Sparks
Health is a an important factor in the gaining confidence and even happiness. Good health makes anyone stand up taller, smile more, and just feel a much better about themselves. Jordin Sparks weight loss has seemed to give her more confidence about her self and the ability to do much more. She has even been supporting trendier clothing and trying out new daring hair trends! Good health can included a healthy hair journey, a goal to having better skin, or even something as simple as growing out your nails. Sometimes people may get wrapped into so many things that their own bodies and health can be forgotten which results in being tired and sluggish. Keep your confidence up by remembering to exercise and treat all aspects of yourself with lots of care. Boost up your confidence ladies!

Confidence Booster #7

Hailee Steinfeld
Boost up your confidence by taking risk while still being yourself . Hailee Steinfeld tries out rik throughout fashion, she wore converses on the red carpet! Hailee is a great example of being yourself while still taking risks and staying youthful. Youth is the great confidence because it carefree and playful. Pull your hair back and go with no make-up for a day, that's a major risk for some ladies. Don't forget to hold your shoulders back and head up! I just love when confidence naturally comes from a person such as Hailee. Just remember that risks and showing your own personality is the best confidence around.

Confidence Booster #6

Kelly Osbourne
Kelly Osbourne has completely taken control of herself and done a 360 into confidence! Kelly has began making fashion statements, getting healthy, and showing off just how pretty she really is. A key to gaining confidence is to take care of yourself first. It is not selfish to think of yourself first at times, you have the right to look and be the best you can be. Looking as if you have all the confidence in the world can help it to really come out and be 100% real.  Kelly Osbourne has not always appeared as the most confident girl, but as soon as she began to stand up straight and take care of herself everyone knew she had it. Look, act, and talk at your best and you will pour confidence and feel great!

Confidence Booster #5

Ariana Grande - Kids' Choice Awards 2011
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande has a magnificent voice, is a great actress, an is also absolutely gorgeous. Ariana is never seen with tons of make-up on, she always has natural make-up and lets her natural beauty shine through. I love how she stands with confidence and although she never does anything too crazy, but she is always bold. Ariana colored her hair magenta and she rocks it! A trait of confidence is being bold. No matter how bold you are, do something that stands out. I always felt bold when I cut my hair and no one else did, I now feel bold by doing things such as crazy nail designs. You don't have to do too much to be bold, just do whatever suits you. Boost up your confidence ladies!

Confidence Booster #4

Demi Lovato has been oozing confidence lately and it's beautiful. She embraces her new curvy body and loves herself. She also talks about her personal problems and shares how to deal with them with others. Taking a tip from Demi, share your feelings and help others. Helping others gives you a statisfaction of knowing you may have helped someone and it makes you feel great leading to better confidence. Sharing your feelings let your emotions out instead of keeping them bottled up inside which only leads to feeling worse. And we can't forget to mention Demi's picture above, it's gorgeous. Demi's head is up and shoulders back giving off a great confident and stand out vibe while still being relaxed. She is beautiful and the perfect role model for gaining confidence. Get confident ladies!

Confidence has many different sides to it and for some girls trying new things is a part! You don't even need to do anything too crazy, if your still scared or on the shy side, try reading out loud in class or telling a new joke at the lunch table. Risks are differet for everbody and so is the meaning of confidence. Whatever works for you, go for it chica. Boost up your confidence!

Confidence Booster #2

Stand straight, shoulders back, and head up! No one can just become super confident overnight, but acting confident is a start. The more confident you look, the more people will believe you are, and after your inner self will become just as confident as you look. Looking confident makes you look 3X better and even a little taller and who wouldn't want that?! Especially if your having a bad day, standing tall and feeling like the Queen of the World will definitely help the confidence meter boost up high.
