Confidence 101: No Makeup, No Worries

Demi Lovato
I believe that being able to go out without any makeup is a key to confidence. It shows that your proud of your natural beauty and know how to embrace it. Plus, even if your the biggest makeup lover your skin needs time to breath and refresh itself which means a day or so without makeup. Also, since it's gradually becoming warmer it's time to slow down on the foundation and other products that will sweat off and go for more natural looks. However, don't take me to literally, I do mean to at least brush/comb your hair and keep your face washed! I challenge my readers to pick one day out of the week to go completely natural and embrace it! (I usually go au naturale on Wednesday just because it's the middle of the week)
How long can you go without makeup?

Beauty 101: Spring for Color Eyeliner

Spring beauty is all about a fresh, glowing face, but what about a little bit of fun color? Color eyeliner is perfect to freshen up your beauty look and give it lots of youthfulness and fun! It's such an easy touch, especially if you're like me and tend to shy away from eyeshadow. There's nothing different about the application of colored liner, but you don't want to keep the rest of the eye simple to avoid color overload. Below are three of my favorite colorful eyeliner looks which consists of a graphic straight line of  color as well as a more smudged look.

Fashion 101: All Black, Never Boring

All black can seem so boring and one dimensional, but not with these tips and tricks. Demi Lovato is the queen of turning an all black look into a chic, edgy outfit while Kylie Jenner knows exactly how to dress up an LBD. All you need is texture and pattern with your black pieces and if you must, an amazing pop of color as well. Keep on reading to learn how Kylie and Demi keep an all black look fresh and chic.
Kylie Jenner
Kylie takes the black dress look to a whole other level! The sheer maxi length makes the dress accent her legs while keeping it classy because of the short black dress underneath. The belt cinches in her waist and creates shapes preventing the dress from becoming to long and baggy while also adding some shine from its patent detail. The minimal make-up and accessories allow the dress to stand out and the heels make her legs like miles long which is perfect for every girl.

A little sparkle, studs, patent, leather, bling, anything can make an all black ensemble so much better. Demi's sparkly black dress makes her shine while the leather studded jacket adds a cool edge along with her sky high booties. All together the look screams edgy glam and doesn't have one dull peice.

What could be said as the hardest way to wear black is layering, but it's way easier than you think. All you need is texture, pattern, and of course a good review over your outfit to keep from doing too much. You always want to start with either a basic top or bottom and slowly layer light items such as a scarf, cardigan, or light weight jacket, you definitely don't want to make yourself look bulky. Just remember to look over you're layering to make sure it all flows no matter what colors you're wearing.

Fashion 101: Thanksgiving Outfits

Thanksgiving is all about being thankful for everything we have and stuffing our belly's full of food. I am definitely known for having at least three plates of food not including dessert and the numerous "scraps" of food I pick up for my own little pre-meal. However, no matter how good it is going down, sometimes it makes me feel a little bloated and my clothes just don't fit the same as they did when I first put them on. This is why a-line and loose styles of clothing are your best friend on days like Thanksgiving, no matter where you're going.

Demi is working this edgy a-line dress that is perfect for any special event. She makes it edgy by adding a studded leather jacket, while you can also switch up the style by wearing a cardigan or denim button down. An a-line skirt or dress allows your stomach room to breath after eating all that food and works for any body type! A-line styles can work for both casual, party, or business looks so wherever you're heading for Thanksgiving you'll be dressed appropriately.

So if you're looking for a casual, everyday look for Thanksgiving, your in luck! Loose, flowy tops are so in this year and the plus is that they're are super comfty and give you room to breath which is great for Thanksgiving. You can pair loose tops with any type of jeans, but beware of putting too many loose things together so you won't look like a complete frump!

Hair 101: Big Bangs Theory

Bangs seem to be making a big comeback, celebs like Demi Lovato, Beyonce, Carly Rae Jepson, and Taylor Swift have all been rocking them. Bangs are such a bold hair statement that can totally change your look! There is also such a variety of bang styles, wispy, fringe, blunt, side bangs, and so many more with my favorite being the longer wispy bangs. Keep on reading to get more into the big bang theory.
Demi Lovato - 2012 iHeartRadio Music Festival - Day 1 - Press Room
This is definitely not the first time Demi has had bangs, remember her Camp Rock days? I love the wispy bang look, especially on her face shape. Wispy bangs frame your face and bring out your eyes by giving them all the attention. However, wispy bangs require trims to keep them out your eyeballs. Wispy bangs are also a great transition into side bangs and growing out your bang look.

Carly Rae Jepson rocks a more blunt and thick bang look that is great for round and heart shaped faces. This bang look is actually longer when straight, but is normally slightly curled under with a mini flat iron. This bang look is best if you know your going to be keeping the bangs for a good bit of time since they're too short to clip all the way back or move completely to the side.
Beyonce's latest hairstyle just happens to be bold, blunt bangs! Blunt straight across bangs are very bold to rock because they are very in your face, literally. Blunt bangs work best with longer face shapes since you don't want to take away half of your face with hair. Also, you definitely want to have hair that is straight or a great flat iron so that the bangs always lay right.

What type of bang would you rock?

Get The Look: Dark Fall Drama

So I'm guessing you may have seen or at least heard about the latest fall beauty trends for 2012. Dark, rich lips, bold brows, and played up neutral shadows are all the rage this fall. Fall is definitely the season for all the brunettes and dark haired mavens out there! Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd are both embodying fall's beauty trend and all you need to recreate their look is mascara and liner, brown/neutral colored shadows, foundation, concealer, and lashes (optional).
  1. Start with a clean face and apply concealer as needed. Add a light foundation or tinted moisturizer as well.
  2. Take an eyebrow pencil or an angled eyeshadow brush for a more natural look in a color slightly darker than your hair and fill in your brows. Use light short strokes to carefully define your eyebrows and gradually make them as bold as you would like.
  3.  Take a deep brown shadow and brush it along your lower lid. Blend out the brown to your crease with a medium shade brown with a hint of shimmer and a light color for your brow bone. You an go smokier and deeper with the shadows for more of a nighttime look.
  4. Since the look is all about the eyes and the lips add black liner to your lower and upper lash line as well as 2-3 coats of mascara. False lashes will make your eyes pop and are great to experiment with.
  5. Apply your lipstick directly to your lips, you may need a liner to stay inside your lip line or you can always use concealer. If your looking for a perfect line or want to change up your lip shape, use concealer to make your lips match your skin tone and "re-draw" the lines.
Now you have a dramatic fall perfect beauty look. If your really wanting to go all out you can even use a bronzer and define you cheekbones, but fo rht e daytime I would stick to the original 5 steps. Let me know if you try out the look, be sure to rock it!

Hair 101: Don't Fear the Wind

Fall weather is so beautiful, peaceful, and breezy, but it can also be damaging to your hair. The windy breezy can blow your hair all out of place and create tangles. The fall is a great time to get your hair back healthy and try out different protective hairstyles. Hair accessories and updo's are a girl's best friend during the colder and windier seasons of the year.

Wearing your hair down during the fall can be a struggle, you have to keep it in place and out of your lip gloss! A half up- half down style is great style to wear if you want to wear your hair down but out of your face, plus since there are a couple of clips in the back your hair will stay in place better. Instead of a half up-half down look you can even try twisting or braiding the front pieces and clipping them back with beautiful barrettes.

Buns and ponytails are definitely the best choice if your worried about your hair flying out of place or becoming tangled. There are so many different type of buns and ponytails from topknots to ballerina buns and high ponytails to side ponytails. You can accessorizes buns and ponytails by adding sparkly bobby pins, flower clips, and more! If your daring enough you can even add bold color like Lauren Conrad and Demi Lovato.

Get The Look: Gorgeous Glow, Edgy Ponytail

Demi Lovato Clothes
Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato's beauty looks always involve heavy liner and dramatic lashes, but in this look she switches it up a bit. Demi adds nude glossy lips, a pearly glow, and super sleek high ponytail to the mix. All you need for the look is liner, mascara, nude lipgloss/lipstick, bronzer, foundation, neutral shadows. As for the hair you may need a serum or edge control and a ponytail holder. It may seem like a lot of product, but it is super easy and super gorgeous!
  1. Begin with a clean face and apply concealer if neccessary.
  2. Take a dewy foundation and blend it into your skin for a a slight shine and glowing look.
  3. Apply bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks to your lower temples. Be sure to blend to avoid harsh lines.
  4. Prime your eyelids and apply a light shadow to your brow bone.
  5. Take a medium brown to the crease of your eye in a V-shape all the way down to your lash line.
  6. Apply a liquid liner in a thick line by your lash line. Use a pencil eyeliner to line your bottom lash line.
  7. Apply 3-4 coats of mascara. Use false lashes for a more dramati look like Demi's.
  8. Take a nude lipgloss or lipstick and apply it to your lips to finish off the look.
If you want to go all the way with the look apply a serum or edge control to your hair and brush it up it a high, sleek ponytail. You can even add extensions to your ponytail and a wide ponytail holder to make the look super edgy. This look is great for parties or anytime you want to go all out. Tone down the look for school by using less mascara and liner.

Prom Beauty Look: The Fancy Pony

Kim Kardashian

Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian
No one ever said a ponytail can't be fancy! Kim Kardashian especially can be seen sporting all types of fancy ponies at special events wether they are slicked back or have curl and volume. The fancy pony look can be used for someone wanting show off their face or a beautifully detailed dress. I am in love with the jewlery peice Kim added to her ponytail in the top photograph. Kim makes sure her hair is always nice and shiny before puling it all up  and back and the shimmery gold hair accessory makes her healthy hair and bronze make-up stand out. Pick up hair jewelry at any hair store or a store that carries beauty products. Demi Lovato shows that a little bit of a messy look can be fabulous. Curl your hair and create big waves before pulling your hair up into a ponytail which will create nice volume and bodyy just  like Demi's hair. Don't forget to add the earrings! Try out a fancy ponytail look for the prom or any other special occasion ladies, they're are both comfortable and fab!

Confidence Booster #4

Demi Lovato has been oozing confidence lately and it's beautiful. She embraces her new curvy body and loves herself. She also talks about her personal problems and shares how to deal with them with others. Taking a tip from Demi, share your feelings and help others. Helping others gives you a statisfaction of knowing you may have helped someone and it makes you feel great leading to better confidence. Sharing your feelings let your emotions out instead of keeping them bottled up inside which only leads to feeling worse. And we can't forget to mention Demi's picture above, it's gorgeous. Demi's head is up and shoulders back giving off a great confident and stand out vibe while still being relaxed. She is beautiful and the perfect role model for gaining confidence. Get confident ladies!
