Trend Alert: The Collar Necklace

Trend Alert: Collar Necklace

Yesterday I did see shopping around the mall and one thing that seemed to stick out on the accessory side and it's collar necklaces! The "collar" is really in right now as you can see on different celebrities, models, and everyday people, but after a while your closet may suffer from the excess amount of collared tops. As a benefit for both you and your closet, it makes so much sense to invest in collar necklaces! The collar necklaces I came across are adjustable for your neck size and length you need the necklace and work for just about any style from girly to edgy. They also came in so many different varieties such as peter pan style and pointed with each decked out in gems, sequins, or a cool print. The necklaces ranged from about $10-$15 which in my opinion is reasonable since you can pair it with about any crew neck top to give the appearance of a real collar, or you can wear it as a regular necklace. Although I did not purchase a collar necklace, (I'd rather have all the bling in on my ears and fingers) I would highly recommend this for anyone who is into the collar shirt look.

Will you be rocking collar necklaces?

OOTD: Leather and Letterman

So I decided that it's finally to pull out my favorite pair of leather pants! It's been so windy outside I had to have something to cover up and warm my legs while still feeling super cute and chic. I paired my leather pants with a cute crop top with a black cami underneath and my grey and white Letterman jacket. By the way, this is the Letterman jacket I have been talking about forever! The jacket is super warm, but not smothering so it's perfect for fall weather. Lastly, I just threw on my grey tennis shoes to break up all the black while going along with the colors of my jacket, plus they're super comfy.

Here you can see a more detailed look of my top, I especially love the sequin detail of the owl's wing. However, I wore my jacket most of the day because of the cold weather. I always have to wear a belt to keep my pants up so I put on my black leather, silver studded belts. My accessories include 2 gold rings on each hand, my JLANI Jewels ring/bracelet chain, my Free Spirit bracelet, and gold Betsey Johnson boyfriend watch.

I also wore my favorite ear accessory, my gold leaf cuff. I think it looks so good mixed in with my hair, because it glitters and dangles through. Judt to let you know, I did not cut my hair! I had layers put in about a month among so when I curl the front of my hair under it looks shorter than it really is, but it's still healthy and strong!

Let me know what your wearing today in the comments below!

Must Have Friday: Bags and Shades

Must Haves

ASOS knapsack bag, $46
Marc Jacobs zippered tote bag, $1,622
Marc by Marc Jacobs aviator sunglasses, $98
Stella mccartney sunglasses, $225

This week I havev discoveredd the need of a medium sized bag for the summertime. Although I no longer have a need of carrying pens, pencils, and paper, I still need sunglasses, sunscreen, and my phone. A medium sized bag will still be able to fit everyting I need without feeling like I'm carrying a suitcase. I am especially loving the ASOS knapsack beacuse of the beautiful mustard collar and brown accents. Sunglasses are always a must for the summer because the sun does not need to be interering with your eyesight. I am really into aviator style shades as well as shades will subtle and chic detailing.

Trend Alert: Floppy Hats

Blake Lively
Lindsay Lohan
Floppy hats are so fun to wear and come in a variety of shapes and colors that are sure to work for anyone! Floppy hats not only look super cute, but they are also great for your health because they keep the extra sun and UV rays from damaging your precious skin. However, remember to still wear SPF!  Blake Lively stays California fresh in her floppy hat which is the perfect size for her head and body and adds to her casual green halter dress. Blake's hat is great for wearing outdoors or anywhere the sun is blazing. Lindsay Lohan gives off a cool girl vibe by pairing her small black floppy hat with darkly tinted aviator sunglasses. Lindsay's hat could be called an oversize fedora, but the mix between the two hat types actually makes it more interesting. All of Lindsay's outfit accessories create an overall look that is super chic and the floppy hat adds an extra oomph. Try out a floppy hat for the spring and summer seasons and look majorly chic while also protecting your skin.

Outfit Of The Day: Modern Mod

Today's outfit of the day showcases a new mod style dress that I absolutely love. The dress came from Marshall's and is super comfortable and makes me feel great. The dress gives me a mod feel and even reminds me of dresses that Twiggy wore in her modeling days. I paired the dress with minimal accessories because I wanted to let the dress stand out, especially the black sides which give me more of an hourglass shape. I did wear a cute pair of oxfords with my dress, but I love going barefoot which explains why my feet are cutoff in the pictures. My beauty look consists of no make-up, but I did try out a new curly hairstyle which I pinned to the side. I love it for spring!
What do you think about my modern mod look?

Outfit Of The Day: Silky Top and Boots

It's the first day back to school and I have to look cute, but still be comfty. I love the print on my shirt and the flowy, loose feel. It is also super comfortable and feels so soft and silky and looks great with skinny jeans. I tucked my skinny jeans into my go to black boots that go up to the middle of my calf. I accesoried with dangly black and white earrings, a black bracelet, and a cute ring. So cute and comfortable, I love it!

Get The Look: Lily Collins Girly and Glam

Lily Collins

Lily Collins is very chic in this outfit and its perfect for any casual occasion. I have really been taking notice of Lily lately and have come to really like her style. I can't wait until her movie, "Mirror, Mirror" comes to the big screen. Lily' outfit begins with the basic, black skinny jeans and a fitted black tee. She dresses it up with a lovely butterfly printed cardigan and to die for sparkly booties. The shoes and cardigan really make the outfit by giving it great girly-glam power. Lily accessorizes with a simple black purse, a cute magnifying glass necklace, and small rings. And you cannot forget about her beauty look! Lily is gorgeous with very simple, natural make-up, her signature defined brows and dark wavy hair. Try out the look ladies, it's ultra chic.

Fashion Tip #3

Are you stuck in a fashion rut? Are all your cute outfits going on repeat X3? I definitely know how you feel and have a great tip. The first thing you should do is accesorize differently, add a scarf or even take a risk with a nice hat. Or you can just go basic by trying the outfit with a different necklace or bracelet. Lastly if your a more advanced fashionista try layering up and creating something totally new.

Fashion Tip #4

Accessorizing can make or break an outfit so it's important to do it right. Start out by having an outfit to work from, kind of like a muse, and pull out your favorite peices of jewelry. From there pick the peices that go best with your outfit. Don't be afraid to pile on the bracelets with your favorite tee or even mix gold and silver together. You may even find a signature ring or necklace that perfectly suits you! Just use your own judgement and style to decide if your wearing too much or too less.

Fashion Tip #2

Don’t know where to start with fashion? Your not the only one and guess what…its not hard to start! All you need is a cute top, it can be a white tee or a nice plaid top. Now find your favorite pair of jeans that flatter you the most and pair them with you top. Slide on a cute pair of boots, heels, or tennis shoes, whatever suits you and your personality best. Accesorizing is next and you can do so with a cute jacket or a fab purse and a pretty bracelet or peice of jewlery. All together the look goes from basic to simple to fabulous as you add on peices and create your own style.
