Sonam Kapoor
Freida Pinto
Blake Lively
My top three favorite looks at Cannes 2014 had to be the gowns of Blake Lively, Freida Pinto, and Sonam Kapoor. Each of their looks were elegant, chic, and subtly sexy. The three lovely ladies each paired their looks sleek hair with Sonam adding luscious waves. Each of the ladies keep the accessories minimal allowing their gowns to speak for their fabulous selves.

Beauty 101: 3 Cold Weather Fixes

Blake Lively
Cold weather has seem to hit everywhere! The snow may be fun for some, but not so much for hair and skin. During the winter, our hair and skin begins to get dry, even brittle, meaning we have to combat the temperature. Below are a few of my cold weather fixes that I use to keep my hair and skin smooth, soft, and , of course, shiny!
  • Moisture, moisture, moisture! The cold air dries out skin which is why it may appear red and/or flaky. The cold also affects hair by causing it to feel brittle and easily break off when brushing past winter coats. Be sure to use lotion and moisture cream on your skin, especially your legs, arms, and face. Also, add extra conditioner, whether cream or spray, in your hair.
  • Hats, scarves, and gloves! It's not uncommon to come down with a cold or the flu during the winter. However, wrapping up will help defend you from sickness. A hat will keep your head warm and help retain your hair's moisture. Scarves and gloves will keep you looking chic and warm.
  • Chapstick...in moderation! Hopefully it's no secret that to much chapstick will only make your lips worse. However, if you use it in moderation it can be high  effective. Try using chapstick only 2-3 times per day. Or, you can try more medical types of chapstick.

Hair 101: Heatless Beach Waves

Blake Lively
Beach waves are a never ending hair trend, but they deserve to be! Beach waves are so versatile, easy, and effortless. Most girls think the only way to achieve beach waves is to pull out the flat iron, but there are heatless waves to create the waves. The heatless version is best for hair that will hold a curl with or without hairspray and won't be in humid weather too long. All you need are hair elastics and a curl enhancing shampoo/conditioner is optional.
  1. Begin by washing and conditioning your hair. A curl enhancing shampoo/conditioner will help to encourage the waves and curls.
  2. Blow dry or air dry your hair until it is anout 85% dry.
  3. Seperate your hair into 2-4 braids and secure them with an elastic. The more you add the tighter your curls will be , less will result in more waves and loose curls.
  4. Wait until your hair is completely dry until you take out your braids.
  5. Take down your braids and finger comb them into the perfect style for you. You may need to spray your hair with a holding spray for the curls and waves to last.

Fashion 101: Blake Lively

I love surfing through pictures of Blake Lively, she always dresses fabulously and is her own stylist! This white dress is so classy and chic while not looking too old. The length is perfect for a special occassion where you don't want to show too much skin and the sleeves add flair.  The sparkly low-heel shoes, the dress accent, and the ring and bracelet look very magnificent and give a very classic vibe. The beachy waves and soft barely there makeup allow the outfit to stand out even more.

Swimsuit Series: Cut Outs

Blake Lively

Jennifer Lopez
Cut out one piece bathing suits are hot and have become increasingly popular throughout the past summers. The only reoccuring issuse with cut-out swimsuits is that some bodies spill out in the cuts out and are not flattering. Blake Lively's sleek black one piece cut out is perfect for very slim girls who have small to medium sized breasts. The suit adds curves and covers the chest while still accentuating them. Jennifer Lopez's cut out one piece is great for girls with curves and fuller figures. When you have bigger breast a suit that dips low in the front is not for you because of the major chances of falling out of the suit. I love that Jennifer's suit covers all her chest while still showing off her body. The gold accent and covered bottom makes her waist look super small and take the attention. Each suit accentuates a special body part and does not let anything hang out, but still be sure to try on a swimsuit before making a purchase.

What is your swimsuit style?

Trend Alert: Floppy Hats

Blake Lively
Lindsay Lohan
Floppy hats are so fun to wear and come in a variety of shapes and colors that are sure to work for anyone! Floppy hats not only look super cute, but they are also great for your health because they keep the extra sun and UV rays from damaging your precious skin. However, remember to still wear SPF!  Blake Lively stays California fresh in her floppy hat which is the perfect size for her head and body and adds to her casual green halter dress. Blake's hat is great for wearing outdoors or anywhere the sun is blazing. Lindsay Lohan gives off a cool girl vibe by pairing her small black floppy hat with darkly tinted aviator sunglasses. Lindsay's hat could be called an oversize fedora, but the mix between the two hat types actually makes it more interesting. All of Lindsay's outfit accessories create an overall look that is super chic and the floppy hat adds an extra oomph. Try out a floppy hat for the spring and summer seasons and look majorly chic while also protecting your skin.

Fashion 101: How To Create Curves

Blake Lively

Leighton Meester
Body shapes and sizes come in a large variety and is unique to each person. Some ladies may have lots of curves while others go straight up and down, but there is a way for everyone to have curves. Contrasting color and peplum dresses and skirts are a fashionable way to create curves in any frame. Blake Lively is showing off the peplum dress trend in all black giving her an hour glass frame. The peplum widens out her hips making her waist appear smaller. Stay clear of a peplum skirt if you already have wider hips chicas! Leighton Meester is wearing a fitted high waisted skirt which alone can create an hour glass frame and adds a crop tank that gives the curve even more definition. Outfits like Leighton Meester can come in a complete dress or be made with seperates. Try out peplum skirts and dresses and contrasting colors to create curves!
