Fashion 101: Mixing Colors

Jessica Alba is always mixing colors in her outfit whether it's summer or winter. Jessica knows exactly how to mix colors without looking like a holiday theme or a melted crayon box. The question is, how does she mix colors so perfectly?
Actress Jessica Alba was a throwback to the 90s as she sported denim on top with some retro colors while out for lunch with a friend in Beverly Hills, California on May 22, 2012.

If your going in a pasteln or cotton candy color theme, stay with it! Sine the pink and blue are both soft and pastel they work perfectly together even though they are not the same. The silver glitter shoes, the denim, jacket, and scarf are all neutral or very basic colors so they don't affect the overall outfit. Her bag and glasses go with the look because the colos match with her shirt and pants. By the way, her ponytail adds a lot of fun, retro vibe to the look!

Darker colors are a little harder to work with and as much as I hate use the word "rules", there are a few. The "rules" are a little bit of common sense, such as not wearing red and green or black and orange ass the main colors because you will begin to look like a holiday mascot. Try using a color wheel and going towards opposites or just make combos that you think look great! Adding hints of black and/or white like Jessica Alba has done can work as neutral compared to the other bright colors.

Fashion 101: All About Neon

Solange Knowles
Heidi Klum
Neon is a hot trend that can an outfit pop and is always perfect for srping/summer. I love that neon can be worked into an outfit in many different ways such as colorblocking or a simple scarf. Solange Knowles works neon throughout her outfit even creating a colorblock efffect. Solange prevents the look from being too much by only using three items of bright color and minimal jewelry.  Remember to only pair complementing colors like Solange has done with pink, purple, and yellow. Heidi Klum uses neon as a pop of color by pairing it with an all black ensemble. Neon is just as great when it is only used in a purse or an accessory! Heidi makes wearing all black totally spring with just a neon yellow handbag. Try out the neon trend this spring/summer ladies!

Fashion 101: Shoe and Purse Cravings

Colorful Wedges

Jewel Sandals

Floral Heels

Stacked Flats

Spring Colorful Purse

Colorful Clutches and Across the Shoulder Bags
I went to DSW ( Designer Shoe Warehouse) recently and they had the perfect spring display of shoes and purses. I immediately wanted every shoe I saw and since I was just looking, I decided to take pictures to share. I fell in love with all the wedges because they are my favorite type of shoe for spring, they're easy to walk in and make every girl's legs look great! I also really like sandals for sprong, but they must have a standout feature like the jewels and dangles on the sandals pictured above.  The sacked flats were amazing and I actually remember seeing a pair featured in a magazine spread. Lastly, I am a purse lover and the purses above are perfect for spring, especially the color schemes. Hope you enjoy chicas and get inspired for spring!
