Hair 101: Victoria's Secret Waves

Victoria's Secret Models

Everybody knows about Victoria's Secret signature waves that each model rocks down the runway and in print. Their hair is always sexy, casual, and cool all in one! Any girl would love to have the big, flowly hair and feel like a model. The hairstyle can work on medium to long hair and can actually be achieved in a couple of different ways.
  • Pin Curls
Pin curl day old hair (hair that has not been washed) and secure it with a wrap. You can sleep in the pi curls or wait around for a couple hours. Afterward take out your pin curls and finger comb your hair. Use a curling iron on any fly away hairs.
  • Hair In A Bun
If your already a curly or wavy haired girl this trick may work for you. After washing your hair, comb out your tangles and put your hair in a bun. Wrap your bun very tight and wait a couple hours while also letting your hair dry. Afterwards take out your bun and release all your waves. If all your hair is not dry, use a blowdryer.
  • Pigtails
Pigtails make any hair type become wavy. After you have washed your hair, or even use dry hair, section of your hair and braid it. The more braids you add the more waves and curls your hair will have. Make sure to either let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer. You will have instant gorgeous waves.
  • Barrel Curling Iron
Begin by having dry hair that is completley combed off. Section off parts of your hair and begin wrapping your hair around a curing. By just wrapping the hair around, you will not create overly defined curls. Use hairspray as neccessary.

Be sure to have patience and practice. You may even need to modify the steps to fit your hair type. And remember the tips, tricks are ot very specific so just ask if you need more info! Try out the look chicas.

Natural Beauty Challenge Week Three

The Natural Beauty Challenge is taken a turn for the better for me this week! How has this week been for your hair and skin? My skin is finally agreeing with my new routine of using an acne scrub,  moisturizing, and actually wiping my face throughout the day. I haven't a break-out yet this week or any other unexpected visitors on my face. My hair has gone through major tangling, but it is nothing a good detangling product cannot fix. This week plan for wiping off your face more during the  day by using blotting papers or facial wipes they work wonders for any skin type, especially oily skin. As for the hair, use heat only once this week if you really would like to, but just once. Try out some new styles like the buns Taylor Swift has been rocking or cute braids. Even create your own updo. Have a great natural beauty week!

Fasion 101: How to Look Taller

Olivia Palermo
Kate Bosworth
Gillian Zinser
Heels aren't the only way to look taller, so try out maxi skirts. Maxi skirts add major length and height when worn just the right way. Maxi skirts come in any type of pattern or solid color and can work for any season of the year depending on the fabric. The perfect maxi skirt for adding length is higher waisted or begin right at the top of your natural waist. Because the skirt starts higher up it makes your legs appear longer and taller, you may not even need to add heels! Avoid maxi skirts that are too flowly and a-line which tend to look very frumpy. Also if you are wanting to look taller do not wear your maxi skirt right at the hip. The above pictures show different styles of maxi skirts. Olivia is very indie and cool in a printed and ruffled. Kate is very romantic and girly in a silky, ivory maxi skirt, while Gillian is classic and chic in a fitted, long black maxi skirt. Rock the maxi skirt and feel sky high!

Hair 101: Taylor Swift's Buns

Look #1
Look #2
Taylor Swift has been showing off chic and unique buns lately. Taylor wears the gorgeous buns both on and off the red carpet, I love that they can work for everyday! Look #1 is very intricate and beautiful, but actually easy to create with very simple steps.
  1. Comb all the tangles and knots out of your hair and seperate it into two horizontal sections. Make sure to tie both sections off with a ponytail holder.
  2. Take some pieces of hair out of the top section and braids or twist, whatever you perfer.
  3. Bring all the hair from the top section, including the braids, back to the nape of the neck. Secure with a ponytail holder.
  4. Release the bottom section from the ponytail holder and mix it into the top section. Secure loosely with a ponytail holder near the nape of the neck.
  5. Wrap your hair into a loose swirl or bun and enjoy your bun hairstyle.
  6. Make sure to use bobbypins, hair ties, and hairspray as neccessary. Also make sure to practice and be patient!
Look #2 is very casual while still being very chic. I love this hairstyle especially for bad hair days or when you need your hair out of your face. The bun can also be placed at any part of your head creating a high or low bun. Try it out chicas!
  1. Brush all your hair up and back into a ponytail. Place the ponytail wherever you would like.
  2. Get out your bobby pins and begin swirling your hair into a bun and pinning it in place.
  3. Spray with hairspray and add bobby pins as needed.
Rock the bun hairstyle ladies!
