Get the Look: Quirky Bun, Natural Make-Up

Zendaya
Zendaya is always adding fun quirks to her everyday style and beauty which makes her looks super fun, young, and very memorable. In the photo above, Zendaya takes a chic slicked backed bun and turns it into a fun swirl, giving an extra va-va-voom! Zendaya keep her make-up light and natural which is perfect for an everyday make-up look and added hoop earring for even more visual interest. To get the look all you need is a brush, bobby pins, and hair tie for the hair and mascara, eyeliner, blush, foundation, and lipgloss for the face.
  1. Start off with your hair by brushing out all the tangles and smoothing down the edges.
  2. Pull the hair up into a high ponytail. Try to make it as sleek and smooth as possible and secure with the hair tie.
  3. Begin twisting the ponytail until it begins to swirl in weird shapes.
  4. When you have achieved your perfect hair swirl, begin pinning down the hair with bobby pins.
  5. Now make sure your skin is clear and apply foundation as needed.
  6. Now apply blush the the apples of the cheeks. Try smiling as you apply the blush for the most natural looking application.
  7. Apply 2-3 coats of mascara and lightly line the top lash line with eyeliner.
  8. Lastly coat the lips with a lipgloss or lipstick for a flush of color on the lips.
Now you have a fun new hairstyle along with a natural make-up look! However, if you want to amp up the look even more, just add hair accessories to the bun, pop some colored liner on the lower eyelid, or even fill in the brows to stay on trend with bold brow look for fall.

Style Crushing: Vanessa Hudgen's White Out

Vanessa Hudgen's style has always been a love of mine, but the new boho glam looks she's been wearing lately make it me love it even more. The all white look is fabulous in the summertime because it shows off the glow and tan on your skin while also looking fresh and clean. The peep of midriff keeps the look young and sexy since so much of the body is covered up in fabric. Also, although I am style crushing over Vanessa's two looks, I am also hair crushing because big buns and loose waves are always chic and help to complete a look. Lastly, the two all white looks require little to no accessories because the hair and color do so much for the overall look already. It's simply chic and fabulous!
What are you style crushing over?

Hair 101: Quick and Easy 2 Minute Bun

Sarah  Hyland
Buns are my go to hairstyle, they're easy, cute, and keep my hair out of my face. After putting my hair up into what feels like a hundred buns, I've finally found an easy way to speed up the process. All you need is a brush, hair tie, and bobby pins. Keep on reading below to find out how I create my quick and easy bun.
  1. Brush the tangles out of your hair and begin pulling it up like a ponytail. *You may need to use hairspray if your hair tends to fall.*
  2. Loop the hair tie around your hair once.
  3. Now loop the hair halfway until it is in a half ponytail/half bun style.
  4. Take both sides of the half ponytail/half bun and connect them at the front of your head. Secure with a bobby pin(s).
  5. Wrap extra hair around the bun and secure extra pieces with bobby pins.
  6. Use hairspray and hair accessories as desired.
Remember, you may have to modify certain steps to make it work for your hair type and leave any questions in the comments below. Don't forget to let me know how it turns out!

Get the Look: Simple Braided Bun

Lauren Conrad
Warm weather calls for hairstyles that keep your hair out of your face which is why Lauren Conrad's casual braided bun look is perfect! The braid is super cute and gets your hair out of your face while the bun keeps it chic and easy. All you need to recreate the look is bobby pins and a ponytail holder.
  1. Begin by brushing all the tangles out of your hair and separating sections near the front to begin a braid.
  2. Begin braid your hair in the front going to the back. You can either braid to your head or separately.
  3. Gather the hair to the side or the back of your head and secure it into a ponytail.
  4. Wrap the hair into a bun and secure with bobby pins.
How do you keep your hair out of your face without losing the "cute" factor?

3 Golden Globe Awards Hair Faves

The 70th Golden Globe Awards consisted of so many beautiful celebrities, jaw-dropping gowns, and gorgeous beauty looks. However, the hair looks stood out to me the most with a majoritity of the female celebs pulling their hair out of their faes into intricate buns, old hollywood waves, and edgy updos. Pulling your hair out of your face is such a big risk, and sometimes an insecurity to ladies everywhere, but I am ready for it to become a big hair trend. Below are 3 of my hair faves from the 70th Golden Globe Awards and tips on how you can rock the looks.
Katherine McPhee
Buns can literally be worn anywhere, anytime, and with anything. Katherine McPhee's bun can easily be turned into an everyday style because of its effortlessness and ease. The fact that it is not pulled back to tightly and not polished makes the bun retain its youthfulness while still being chic. The bun can easily be achieved by adding a shine/smoothing serum to your hair, pulling it into a ponytail, then very loosely wrap the hair around in circles while pinning it down with bobby pins. Fly aways are perfectly fine which makes the look great if you don't have a lot of time and still want to look cute.

Julianne Hough
If you're going to pull your hair out of your face, do it with some edge like Julianne Hough. The slick back sides frame and contour her face while the pompadour adds the BAM to the hair look. All you need to recreate Juliannes look are bobby pins, a brush, and a holding spray. Brush your edges back, leaving the center out, into a low bun. Tease the remaining hair to your liking, shape the pompadour, then secure it into the bun with bobby pins. You may need holding spray to keep the edgy look in place. The hair is perfect when you want to keep your hair ot the way while still feeling glam and edgy.

Megan Fox
Old Hollywood waves never get which is why I love Megan Fox's hair style. Hollywood waves may seem like way too much for everyday, but there is definitely a way to make it work. Create waves in your hair whether through a curling iron, braids, or just use your natural hair texture and brush all of it to one side of your hair. You may need bobby pins to keep the hair all to one side or you can use hair accessories such as a flower clips or bejeweled hairbands.

What is your favorite Golden Globe Awards hair look?

Hair 101: Big Messy Bun

I love wearing a big bun right on top of my head! Big messy buns look casual, fun, and put together all in one, plus they're really easy to do. The only issuse with creating a bun is that some days they just don't come out full and voluminous which defeats the whole concept of a big messy bun. I have come up with and perfected my own new way of creating the perfect messy bun that requires only bobby pins, a ponytail holders, and a brush. Keep on reading to find out how to recreate my big messy bun:
  1. Start out by brushing all the tangles out of your hair. Go ahead and pull out any extra hair or bangs that you don't want added in your bun.
  2. Pull the hair the hair you want in your bun up into a ponytail, but do not pull the hair all the way through. Your hair should look like an unfinished ponytail with the end and beginning of your ponytail both in the ponytail holder.
  3. Begin "messing" up your hair by slowing loosening up the unfinished ponytail. As you pull out and loosen up hair be sure to secure the peices with a bobby pin or else it will all fall down.
  4. Use bobby pin or clips to secue any hair that is sticking out or falling all the way out of the style.
  5. For added flair, tie a bandana around the front of your hair, flower clips, or a cute headband.
If you have anymore questions or try out y big messy bun look leave it in the comments below. Rock the bun!

How-To: Protect Your Hair at Night

Miley Cyrus

It's so easy to just throw your hair up into a bun before bed or just not do anything at all. Although it's super easy to do that, it's extremely damaging to your hair. You can experience breakage and tangling all from not treating your hair with some TLC during your sleep hours. Keep reading for some tips on how to protect your hair at night, no matter your hair type:
  • Never go to sleep with wet or damp hair! Let your hair completely dry before even thinking about laying on it.
  • Brush and comb! No matter your hair type you always need to brush or comb your hair to get all the tangles before they come worse throughout the night.
  • Avoid buns at night! Buns and even ponytails are not the best thing for night time because the ponytail holder can break off your hair. Try just loosely braiding it backwards.
  • Wrapping! Wrapping your hair is very popular for relaxed hair types and will keep your hairstyle looking nice and fresh for the next day.
  • Silk pillow! Sleeping on a silk pillow allows your hair to maintains its nutrients and glide smoothly across the pillow unlike cotton or other fabrics.

OOTD: Topknot and Flowers

I am so in love with my H&M dress! The dress gives me a girly and edgy feel all in one, plus it makes my legs look great! The dress is an all over colorful floral pattern with hints of black that stand out. This dress is a tad too short for me to wear to school, but it is perfect for any day when you just want to wear a dress.
The dress gives me a bit of an hourglass shape because it is a-line and has very precise seam lines. It also has a body-con type feel because it hugs my body very snug. The only issue is that you need to wear smooth undergarments because they will show through the dress and visible panty lines aren't cool!
I stayed very simple with my accessories because of the busy pattern of my dress so I only wore a very small pair of green earrings, three small rings, and my everyday gold watch. I also wore a black pair of wedge booties that I have fallen in love with, but you can take the look grungey with combat boots. I decided since I really wanted to show of my dress to throw my hair up into a high topknot and no make-up.

*Just to let you guys know, my dress is from H&M for $17.95 and my shoes are from Rack Room Shoes for around $30.00.*

Back To School Beauty

Amber Stevens
Back to school make-up should be kept simple, there's no reason to go too over the top! Amber Stevens is a great example of how to use make-up to enhance your features and get a nice glow that will last all day. Amber even paired the look with a chic bun complete with two wispy hairs on the side. All you need to recreate the look is foundation (if needed), pencil eyeliner, mascara, a nude lipstick and gloss, and a rosy blush. As for the hair you may need a sock bun, a ponytail holder, and a comb or brush.
  1. Begin with a clean face and apply concealer and foundation if needed.
  2. Start with the blush and apply it right on the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards.
  3. Take the eyeliner and line your waterline very lightly. Make a medium-sized line right by your lash line. *Adding a cat-eye will give the look a bit of drama.
  4. Apply the nude lipsticks and add some shine by applying a gloss on top.
  5. Pull your hair up into a ponytail and pull your sock bun through. Be sure to secure the bun so it doesn't fall off!
  6. Pull out two strands of hair and even curl them for an even more feminine look.
Rock this look if your all about a fast, easy, but chic and cute look for back to school!

Hair 101: French Braid To Bun

Photo credit to LuxyHair on Youtube
The bun hairstyle is so popular now, but there is a time when it needs a little spin! The french braid up to a bun is so beautiful and can actually begin from the side, front, or wherever your heart desires. This hairstyle may look better if you have someone else french braid the hair and if you use the "sock bun" method for the bun.

  1. Begin with your hair detangled and a part seperating 1/4 of the back of your hair from the front.
  2. Tie the front of your hair away and begin french braiding the back. Secure the braid with 2-3 bobby pins.
  3. Bring back the front of your hair as well as the back and pull it into a ponytail.
  4. Create the bun by wrapping your hair in a circle or use the "sock bun" method.
  • If you don't know how to french braid or just don't have the time instead of french braiding, just braid a big sectionn of hair and clip it into the bun.
Wear this look to give a new element to your a bun. A lovely pair of studs or even big, dangly earrings go perfectly with this hairstyle. You can even go more dramatic with your make-up and add special clips in your hair.

Summer Series: Hot Hair

Lauren Conrad
Ashley Benson

Shailene Woodley Ties Her Long Hair Back Into This Super High Chic Bun
Shailene Woodley
Summer gets extremely hot and sometimes it's too much to have long locks hitting against your body. Summer is also the best time to try out new styles, especially for your hair. I love how Lauren Conrad keeps her long locks all year round and is always finding new ways to spice it up. Lauren's hairstyle above is very easy to do and gets your hair out of your face. You can either french braid a section of hair backwards or simply just braid two sections and clip them back. So simple! Ashley Benson took a major chop of her long wavy hair and it is super edgy, just what she is going for. The natural wavy hair and messy aspect is the best part of her new 'do.  Short hair can be very versatile just like long hair because it can still be curled, braided, pinned, anything! It also prevents you from being even more overheated! Lastly Shailene Woodley goes trendy by pulling her hair up into a high bun that can either be messy or slick, whatever look your going for! A bun is very versatile because it can work for both formal and casual occassion and also helps when your in the process of growing out your hair.

What is your go to hairstyle for summer?
