Spring 2013 is all about stand out prints and colors which is why black and white outfit combos are becoming a major trend. The color contrast between white and black is major and can be seen in so many different styles, prints, and pieces that it's almost impossible not to fall in love with the trend. My favorite way of rocking this trend is through stripes or a graphic tee. Black and white stripes can look very feminine and classy, but still be turned edgy and chic in seconds while a graphic tee will always keep you comfty and casual. Not only that, but a black and white outfit combo is perfect to pair with bold colored accesories, purse, and shoes! So many options are included with this trend which makes it a must to try out.

Trend 101: Stripes Print Mania

Stripes, especially black and white stripes, are making a major impact in spring 2013's fashion. Stripes are mostly known for being classic, preppy, and girly, but I am all for turning stripes into a strong edgy look. Miley Cyrus is always rocking stripes whether it's in a jumpsuit, a skirt, or an awesome pair of skinny jeans. Not only are stripes a great print, but they create slimmer and wider allusions where you want them. Kylie takes the black dress look to a whole other level! The sheer maxi length makes the dress accent her legs while keeping it classy because of the short black dress underneath. The belt cinches in her waist and creates shapes preventing the dress from becoming to long and baggy while also adding some shine from its patent detail. The minimal make-up and accessories allow the dress to stand out and the heels make her legs like miles long which is perfect for every girl.

What could be said as the hardest way to wear black is layering, but it's way easier than you think. All you need is texture, pattern, and of course a good review over your outfit to keep from doing too much. You always want to start with either a basic top or bottom and slowly layer light items such as a scarf, cardigan, or light weight jacket, you definitely don't want to make yourself look bulky. Just remember to look over you're layering to make sure it all flows no matter what colors you're wearing.



DIY Nails: I Love Fall

I am so obsessed with fall, the leaves are beautiful, the clothing is warm and snugly, and to top it off my birthday is in the wondrous fall months.My nail design for this week definitely embodies how I see fall as well as my love for owls and this beautiful fuchsia nail polish. All you need to recreate the nail look is a nail art brush, dotting tools, a light pink polish, grey, brown, and fuchsia/purple polish color.

1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear base coat followed by polishing all of your nails a light pink color.
2. Take your nail art brush and dip it into the brown or purple color and being creating leaves. The leaves will come out great if you begin with the round portion and slowly create the tip, almost like a teardrop.
3. Now for the owl take the fuchsia color and paint the entire nail except for a small semi circle. Let the polish dry, then add eyes, a beak, and small polka dots with the dotting tool.
4. The tree can be created with the nail art brush and can have as many branches as you would like, they look more realistic if the have bent and wobbly lines. Use the dotting tool to represent leaves at he end of the tree branches.
5. Wait about 5-7 minutes for the nails to dry and apply a clear top coat. Be sure to make sure your nails are dry so they will not smear or smudge.

Now your nails are fall perfect, you can even add sparkles, glitters, or play around with different color schemes. Let me know if you try out the nail look!

Katy Perry is strutting her stuff at Paris Fashion Week, any fashionista's dream! Katy has been going up in the fashion world by taking major risks mixed with lots of chic glam power. I have always loved Katy's beauty looks but I am now really starting to admire her style. Katy is a wearing a royal blue and black outfit along with her fabulous blue hair that only a "California Girl" could rock.  Although I would never be risky enough to try such a daring outfit, I do love how Katy is so unique and takes a fashion chance. The patterns on her jacket annd shirt totally make it her own and the pumps give the look some glam power. And we can't forget to mention that she is rocing the shades and the ultra cool satchel clutch. Katy Perry shows that unqiue and daring style can get you noticed and admired.
