Hair 101: The Wand

Isabelle Fuhrman
"The Wand" is becoming a popular hair untensil amongst tons of medium to long haired girls. Isabelle Furhman, pictured above, from the Hunger games is sporting a hairstyle that only a wand could accomplish. I love how her has very consructed coils while the hair is still loose and natural. The carefree wave look is becoming very "in" for spring/summer 2012.   The wand is basically a just a curling iron with no clamp that is bigger at the bottom and becomes smaller as it gets closer to the tip. The wand creates a spiral curl that is much looser than a normal curling iron and gives off more of a carefree wave. The wand comes in many different brands such as the one pictured below, although they may not all go by the name, The Wand.
Have you ever tried the Wand or a similar curling iron? How do you like the curls?

Prom Beauty Look: Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez's hair and make-up is perfect for prom or any other special occasion look. The look is a bit less formal than normal , but it will help tone down an over the top dress. Selena Gomez's curls can be recreated by taking a medium or large curling iron and wrapping your hair around it. Since prom and special occasions may last for long amounts of hours you may want to have the curls start off much tighter and use more hairspray. The make-up look is very natural except for a pop of blue shadow right along the lash line paired with black liner and mascara. Selena's nude lips and dewy skin prevent the make-up look from being too much and only focuses on one feature.  This prom beauty look will work best with a short dress or a dress that involves lots of pattern or sparkly. Try it out ladies!

Love Her Style: Jennifer Lawrence

Look #1
Jennifer Lawrence Shoes
Look #2
Jennifer Lawrence knows just how to take a tomboy personality and trnsform it into  chic and trendy style. Jennifer dresses to fit her own body and never dresses overly sexy or too sweet. She knows her personality and style which helps make her confidence and outfits look so amazing. Look #1 is a very laid back, quirky outfit that is perfect for wearing anywhere by just switching out the heels for oxfords during the early day. I love that she paired a flowly navy skirt with a slouchy shirt that remained feminine by showing off a bit of clevage. Look #2  shows off Jennifer's toned body and curves and is super chic. The striped tee prevents the look from being boring and the strappy heels add some detail to her bottom half. I am loving Jennifer's sunglasses and the fact that she chose a gold necklace.
How are you liking Jennifer Lawrence's style?

Emma Watson is sleek and chic in this drop dead gorgeous look. The back cut-ou and sparkle in her dress maintain her youth while still staying fashionable. Emma's make-up simple yet bold, all you need to recreate it is rosy blush, red lipstick, silver eyeshadow, and a few other basic make-up materials.
  1. Begin with a clean face and  use concealer for any needed ares. Put on foundation and set it with powder for a matte look.

Fashion 101: The Kid's Choice Awards 2012

Katy Perry
Selena Gomez
Miranda Cosgrove
Emma Stone

The Kid's Choice Awards aired last night and altough I did not watch the entire show, I did see some trending outfits. As the stars walked down the orange carpet, I noticed similar styles such as the midriff baring Katy Perry and Selena Gomez and the soft leather dresses worn by Emma Stone and Miranda Cosgrove. Katy Perry kept with the neon trend, all the peices of her outfit can definietly be made into an everyday outfit. Selena Gomez sticks to a girly theme throughtout her outfit by wearing soft pinks and silver and a cocktail ring. Miranda Cosgrove keeps it edgy, but still spring in a bright blue leather dress and black booties. Emma Stone has a sweet, romantic look by wearing a neutral colored leather dress and tan wedges. Her blonde, wavy hair adds more sweetness to the look. Although their were no showstopping dresses, I did see many styles that can work for everyday and are still super cute.

Which outfit(s) are you loving?
