Trend 101: The Palazoo Pant

Kendall Jenner
Palazzo pants are known for being big and wide, but not always. Kendall Jenner tries this look with slimming palazzo pants in an Aztec print paired with a crop top. This type of slimming palazzo pant lengthens the body which is perfect for both short and tall girls.
Vanessa Hudgens
Palazzo pants are perfect for casual days in the spring and summer. Palazzo pants work for a shopping day as well as for dates because of the array of prints, and maxiskirt-like feel. Vanessa Hudgens rocks the palazzo pants with a boho vibe by pairing them with a loose crop top and fringe satchel bag.

Nicole Richie
Palazzo pants also come in a trouser form, perfect for more formal occasions, like in the photo above. Nicole Richie even mixes print utilizing stripes and checkered print.

Fashion 101: The Printed Sweater

The weather is starting to get chilly which means its time for Sweater Weather! Printed sweaters are my favorite because they don't just look like a clump of fabric on my body. They can play up my personal style and a big dose of personality to my look. Below are some of my favorite printed sweater looks worn by my favorite celebs:
Beyonce
Get matchy-matchy like Beyonce by pairing your sweater with bottoms that match a main color in the sweater.
Beyonce
Try adding a pop of  color by pairing a neutral colored sweater with colored bottoms and accessories.
Gwen Stefani
Go edgy like Gwen Stefani by pairing a girly polka dot sweater with killer boots and military skinnies.

Back 2 School: From the Bottom Up

Back 2 School: From the Bottom Up
Keep it printed, textured, and fun for your back to school bottom wear. In my opinion, the bottom half of your look is what makes it hot! I love printed pants and cute circle skirts that allow me to feel comfortable while still looking cute during the school day. Not only do the bottoms keep me feeling cute and comfy, but so do oxfords and sneakers! Oxfords give me a taste of flats mixed with a tennis shoe look while converses and sneaker wedges can go from edgy to girly.

Fashion 101: Shorts Mania

Shorts Mania
I did a lot of shopping this past weekend and the number one thing I noticed was the wide variety of shorts. I'm used to just wearing a plain pair of denim shorts with the only "unique" feature being whether they were light or dark wash. However, now shorts vary from lace, silk, printed, high waisted, cuffed, and even more which make your summer wardrobe choices even more fun! Lace shorts addd a daintiness and feminine touch to your look, but I would make sure that lace is not completely see through so that you're not showing all your goods. Some shorts even come in all around print making it them the center of attention and more dressed up for special occassions such as dates in the summer time. Of course there are also high waisted shorts which will show off your figure and shorts with prints that you can even DIY.

What type of shorts do you rock in the summertime?

Love Her Style: Katy Perry Print Obsession

Katy Perry has always caught my eye from her catchy music, crazy hair color, and of course her quirky style. Lately I have been noticing Katy wearing lots of crazy prints that look super cute and wearable for everyday. Below are my top three favorite print-tastic looks from Katy and why I love them.
Who would think a skirt with man with mustaches could be so chic? The silhouette of this outfit is just so cute and perfect for spring and summer days. The print is so unique and fashionable which creates interest in the look. The visual interest in this look is what draws me in because it goes above and beyond everyday cheetah and zebra prints while still being wearable for everyday. I am also loving Katy's long flowing hair, gorgeous!

The print does so much for this chic a-line dress. This dress is perfect for a formal occasion, especially if you still want to look young, current, and fun. The lace sleeves help the dress to be a little more conservative while still showing a tad bit of skin while the blue sheer flowers add a girly cuteness to the look. Katy's shade add a fun factor to the look while her shoes go great with the grey/white under part of her dress.
This look is great for music festivals and causal weekends in the spring. I love her use of texture and pattern in this look as well as her vintage booties paired with peekaboo socks. The top is very boho with the flowiness and small flowers while the crotchet skirt gives off more of a vintage boho vibe. The belt makes sure that Katy's waist is not lost in the look while her side braid keeps the look simple and the hat adds a fashion edge and sun protection to the look.

Trend 101: Stripes Print Mania

Stripes, especially black and white stripes, are making a major impact in spring 2013's fashion. Stripes are mostly known for being classic, preppy, and girly, but I am all for turning stripes into a strong edgy look. Miley Cyrus is always rocking stripes whether it's in a jumpsuit, a skirt, or an awesome pair of skinny jeans. Not only are stripes a great print, but they create slimmer and wider allusions where you want them. Keep on reading to find out how to style stripes like Miley Cyrus.
Miley Cyrus
The vertical stripes of her jumpsuit help to form her natural curves and bring them out even more. The style of the jumpsuit is very 70's and even elongates the body making Miley look 7 feet tall!
Miley Cyrus
This jumpsuit feature bigger and bolder prints which does a lot more visually. The horizontal stripes up top and vertical stripes at the bottom are a great contrast as well as the nice peek of skin on her shoulders.
Miley Cyrus
It's always nice to mix casual and classy. I like how Miley went casual with a sweatshirt, but made it look classy with a satin striped skirt. The red made the entire look more classic along with the black pumps and clutch.
Miley Cyrus
The easiest way to rock stripes is in a nice pair of skinny jeans. The jeans make your legs look miles long and in a vertical print you will look super slim! Striped pants that are black and white go with any solid print top as well as some other prints.
Are you rocking prints this spring?

Love Her Style: Zendaya

Zendaya is one of my latest style crushes because of her variations of looks and styles, from hair, beauty, and fashion! Zendaya is known for an edgy and fun red carpet look, very chic casual looks, as well as outfits that go into a more tomboy inspired style. Below are three of my favorite looks from Zendaya in each of her style elements.
This is such a fun, feminine outfit that looks perfect for any party! The skirt is full of tulling  giving it an effect of a tutu, but in a more chic and fashionable way. The high waist aspect and the a-line of the skirt keeps it from being too dress up and dancer like. The top is a more artistic take on cheetah print and gives Zendaya's outfit a great mix of print and breaks away from being too dark and pairing black on black. The shoes are very subdued with soft lace and make her legs look miles long.
Some days all you need is a great pair of leather pants, a loose top, warm jacket, and a pop of color which is exactly what Zendaya has done with her look. The leather pants fit her perfectly and add an edge as opposed to typical black jeans. The top is basic black with small white details which amps it up a notch. The jacket adds a slight break up of all black and hangs like a cardigan meaning it won't take away from the entire look. Zendaya's hot pink heels help to make the look stand out with a touch of girliness.
This is one of my favorite looks from Zendaya because of its tomboy vibe mixed with my go to floral patterns. Zendaya knows exactly how to go from super girly to chic and to tomboy and still look absolutely amazing! The floral pants are baggy but fitted at the ankles which keeps a feminine frame and the tucked in tee helps to not lose her waist. The blue sneakers keep the look cool and casual while still fitting in with the entire look.

DIY Nails: All About the Houndstooth

I have fallen in love with the houndstooth print and can't wait to start seeing it everywhere in the spring. Whenever I begin to really start loving a print, I always try it out on my nails so I get to wear the print for at least a week. All I needed to do my houndstooth nails were a nail art brush, white nail polish, and a solid color polish. Keep reading for a step-by-step tutorial on how to create your own houndstooth nail design.

Begin by painting all your nails one solid color. I chose a pink color for a more vibrant and springtime feel.
Use a nail art brush dipped in white nail polish and make tow equally spaced stripes going vertically down your nail. Clean your nail art brush afterwards.
Use your nail art brush again, but dip it into your base color nail polish and create two horizontal stripes down the nails. Clean the nail art brush. Now notice the white squares created by the stripes use the nail art brush dipped in white polish to add one short white line to the top right corner of each square. Now add a short white line to the bottom left corner of the square. Lastly, add two small connecting lines to the top left corner of each square. Wait about 10 minutes or longer for the design to draw then add a clear top coat.
*Use the pictures as guidelines and steps for recreating the nail design and remember, you can always make it your own.*

OOTD: Print Crazy Peplum

You probably have already figured out that I have a slight obsession with printed pants, but I just can't  help it. I love pairing my printed pants with a solid color up top, but this blue structured peplum top I found for under $10 was even better because of it's unique style. The look has just the amount of color I like to wear without being a neon bright highlighter and paired with my grey sneaker wedges, the print on the pants is toned down.
The back of the peplum top is a deep scoop that shows off the back while still covering up the shoulder blades and bar clasps. The peplum aspect of the top gives me more of a defined waist and shape while the pants fit more like jeggings fitting more snug and comfy on my legs. My sneaker wedges help to emphasize my legs since any type of wedge on a shoe helps to make your legs look longer and leaner.

As for accessories, I wore a couple or small rings, a boyfriend watch, and a ponytail holder just in case I wanted to pull my hair up. The shoes have spike details that stand out against the grey of the shoe and in my opinion work as a major point within my whole look. The pattern on my pants is actually a mixture of grey and white tree branches, leaves, and bird cages with splashes of yellow throughout.

OOTD: Studs, Leather, Cheetah!

You may not know this about me, but ever since I saw the Cheetah Girls movie on Disney Channel I've always had a weakness for cheetah print. Animal print in general is a cool and easy way to add a pattern to your outfit without feeling like a walking abstract painting. I wore my letterman jacket over my top while I was outside to keep warm while sticking with my laid back look. The leather pants are part of my new pants obsessions, they are a mix of simple and edgy since they are a solid color but they also have a slight shimmer and are of course leather. The leather and animal print put together make me so edgy, especially with the edition of my spike detailed sneaker wedges!

I decided to keep the construction of the outfit simple by pairing a print with a solid. The cheetah print top was very easy to pair with the red leather pants since it only consists of two colors. The shoes are my grey Guess sneaker wedges that work with just about anything and add a laid back feel to any outfit. The stud details on the back of the shoes also add an edgy and kick-butt look to the whole look. I wanted to feel casual, trendy, and fun look with this outfit which I totally felt all day.
As for hair and accessories, I kept it very minimal so I wanted take away from my outfit. I wore my everyday gold watch, a few small rings, silver hoop earrings, and my favorite "dream" rubber bracelet. My eye make-up consisted of a BB cream, mascara, and a thin cat eye. I put bantu knots in my hair the night before which gave my hair a slight wave. Also, this may sound a bit cliche, but I was sure to wear a smile and confidence all day long to compliment the look.

OOTD: Blue Striped Bows

The fall and winter season always seems to make peoples wardrobes 50 shades darker, but not mine. I love adding color, graphics, and patterns to my look all year round no matter the season! For this outfit I decided to you all three of my favorite things, as you can see I used the color in my jeans and the patterns and graphic in my shirt. The blue pants work fot the season because they aren't extremely bright which gives a more understated look. The top also helps to tone down the top and give persoanlity, uniqueness to the look, and overall more fun! The black combat boots are just my go to pair of shoes, they always make me feel edgy and are comfty for my feet. I didn't add too many accesssories because I didn't want anything taking away from my clothes and I kept my hair in a high messy bun.

3 Ways to Make Your Legs Look Longer

How To Make Yout Legs Look Long

I love making my legs look long and lean and I also love wearing heels, but sometimes I just am not in the mood to wear heels. However, I've found three easy ways to make myself feel tall and make others think my legs are going on for miles without the use of wedges and heels. The firsy way is to match the color of your jeans with the color of your shoes. Keep grey jeans with grey shoes, black with black, and so on. The best thing is that it works for all types of shoes! The number two way is to use jeans with a vertcial pattern, the best way is stripes. The vertical pattern makes it appear that your legs keep going and going because of the up and down print. Last, but not least is trying out high-waisted jeans which add height since the jeans go up into your upper body. High-waisted jeans also help out the ladies with super short or longer torsos because you have a reason to tuck in your shirt.  No matter what tip you try, you won't need heels which is a total plus since you get to have the extra comfort of flats!

Here it is, my Back To School Haul! Since I do go back to school during the in between weeks of summer and fall, I wanted to get pieces that would work for both seasons. Printed jeans are an absolute favorite of mine so of course I had to pick up floral and animal print jeans! I also pulled out all my pairs of colorful jeans because those are a great staple to brighten up your closet. I also went for some edgier tops as well as a super cute grungy-girly dress. All the pieces work great with my older clothes which is a must when shopping, there's no point in buying something you can't wear! I will definitely be doing more OOTD's with my newly added pieces!
