Fashion 101: Always Dressed to Impress

Singers Taylor Swift and Lorde out shopping at Free People in Brentwood before finishing up at Rag & Bone in West Hollywood, California on February 23, 2014.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is the queen of rocking an effortlessly chic and simple dress look. A printed dress is a staple piece for any wardrobe because it can stand out on its own. Taylor pairs her wardrobe staple with a red belt that cinches in her waist, sunglasses, and a small leather bag. For the days that there is not a lot of time to get dress, this wardrobe staple is a quick and easy must!

We all have those days that are jam-packed with special events for work, school, parties, and more. However, some of those days we just do not feel like putting a lot of effort into our look. That's why a nice formal dress, such as Zendaya's elegant, white t-shirt dress, is perfect for those occasions. Dresses in white, dresses with collars, and dreses that hit slightly above or at the knee are usually perfect for any formal event. It's all up to the fashionista on how to dress up the look with a gorgeous beauty look, powerful heels, or some fierce jewelry.

Beauty 101: Step Up Your Spring Make-Up

Shay Mitchell
Spring is all about fun, bright, girly colors and there is no where better to try out these cutesy colors besides the lips. Lilacs, pinks, reds, and corals are perfect pout colors that will last all the way through the summer season.
AnnaSophia Robb
Mega lashes and defined brows are major beauty trends this spring and super simple to achieve! Find a great mascara and follow the "T" and "C" method. The method begins by 1-2 coats going up the lashes, then 1-2 sweeps across the top of the lashes. Follow up with a quick coat on the outer lashes in a "C" shape. Define the brows using a shadow and brow brush in short, hair-like strokes.

Becky G
A soft smokey eye is the perfect spring date look. Simple pink and purple shadows on the lid, blended with a darker brown in the crease, topped off with a highlight shadow in the brown bone will create a quick, easy, and cute smokey eye. Make the look pop by adding on a coat of lipgloss and a swipe of blush.
Kat Graham
Summer is not the only bronzer appropriate season! Give your skin a shimmery glow for the spring with a swipe of bronzer on the cheeks and a mix of gold, brown, and nude shadows on the eyes. This look will highlight facial features and make even a simple look super chic.

Fashion 101: A Shay Mitchell Valentine

Shay Mitchell always looks so cute, girly, and fashionable which is absolutely perfect for Valentine's Day. Whether you have a Valentine, are going on a day, or just kicking it solo, it's still good to be in the spirit of the holiday. Throw a cute dress, skirt, or at least wear a pop of red or pink. Below I have examples of a perfect casual and dressed up Valentine's Day look that will look absolutely amazing for the heart day and may already be in your closet.

Shay Mitchell
A skirt always looks super cute and with a pink top it will be super casual, but still dressed for the holiday. Don't forget to add some curls or waves in your hair. If you really not feeling a skirt, try a skinny jeans that will show off the shape of your legs which is definitely a girly vibe. A pink or red top is a necessity with the look if you're planning on staying Valentine's Day appropriate.

Okay so I haven't had my first date yet, but if I did I would definitely wear Shay Mitchell's outfit in the photo above. A bright dress makes you stand out and shine while the leather jacket and booties keeps a little bit of edge and warmth. The side swept hair also frames our face and gives you room for a nice spritz of fragrance.
What are your Valentine's Day plans?

Back To School Confidence

Shay Mitchell
Being confident is very important especially when your going to be making first impressions on your teachers, making new friends, going to a new school or even starting off in college! All you need to do is stand tall, smile, and try greeting people you do and don't know. Coming prepared will also help to make you feel more cofident just because you know that you have everything you need. Having a planner marked with all your important dates and your backpack filled with your supplies will take a load off your back for the entire year! School confidence will come naturally if you maintain a postive attitude with your peers and teachers, stay prepared, and just have fun meeting new people!

What do you do to gain school confidence?

Fashion 101: Texture Mix

Shay Mitchell
Shay Mitchell is not just a pretty little liar, she is also a fabulous fashionista! I love how Shay mixes texture in this outfit and makes it springtime perfect. The look is perfect for a warm, breezy day because the silk top allows for both warmth and coolness and the skirt shows off toned legs. Shay's skirt is super cute, the refelcting colors gives off a mermaid inspired look. Mixing textures is almost as easy as mixing prints, but there are still a couple key tips to getting it just right.
  •  Be sure that you don't pair two bold textures together, too much texture can be too over the top.
  • The best way to make a textured outfit flow is to seperate off peices by a belt like Shay Mitchell has done.
  • Try out a smooth texture mixed with a rough texture when you are first mixing textures and continuosly venture out to more daring combinations.
Try out some these tips to learn how to mix textures in your outfits. Remember to just experiment to find out what textures work together for you. Try it out for any occasion!
