Hair 101: Braided Bun

Nicole Richie
Summer is a time to get your hair out of your face, try out new hairstyles, and transform your hair to being healthier.Nicole Richie always sports the cutest hairdos and I am especially loving this braided style that goes back into a sidebun. It so easy to recreate especially on a bad hair and all you need are bobby pins, a comb or brush, and a ponytail holder.
  1. Begin by detangling your hair and  all to one side.
  2. Make a thick french braid on the side of your head close to your edges going to the ends of your hair. Be sure to braid loosely.
  3. Take your hair and swirl it into a loose, messy bun at the back of your head. Secure with bobby pins.
  4. Create a more messy look by playing with the bun and the braid. A carefree look is perfect for summer.
French Braiding Quick Tips
The best way to french braid is to take three medium sized peices of hair and cross them over each other in equal amounts of time. Add in an extra piece of hair to the original three sections to make the braid into a french braid.

Remember practice makes perfect and to be patient when trying new hairstyles. Rock this look for a carefree and fun vibe, even on the worst hair day!

Swimsuit Series: Cover-Ups

Summer Additions

A great cover-up is needed for the walks to and from the beach or pool. I am super in love with using rompers as cover-ups beacause they hide both the bottom and top halves of your body. Rompers are very loose, flowly, and easy to take off so right into the water. A long sheer blouse is also perfect as a cover up because they are usually long enough to stop around the bottom area and look super chic. The easiest cover-up is probably already in your closet because it is just a simple loose t-shirt. A loose t-shirt goes well right over a swimsuit top and it gives extra use to the everyday t-shirt. Don't forget cool additions to your swimsuit like a lovely fedora or floppy hat and of course...Sunscreen!

DIY Nails: Midnight Summer Silhouette

I am in love with my summer-y nails complete with a palm tree accent. This nail tutorial is inspired by the late nights of summer, sun sets, and calming palm trees. All you need to create this nail look is a blacck nail striper, sparkly clear, dark blue, orange, neon teal, and purple nail polish. Be sure to have nail polish remover and a clear top and base coat handy!
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear base coat.
  2. Take the purple polish and paint one-third of your nail starting from the cuticle.
  3. Immediately take the orange polish and paint a little over the purple polish and the middle section of your nail. Be sure to let the colors blendd together.
  4. Take the blue polish and paint a little over the orange all the way to the tip. Let the colors blend and fade into each other in an ombre effect.
  5. While the nails are drying begin on your accent nail by painting it a neon teal. Be sure to let it dry.
  6. Take the black nail stripers and make a thick line at the tip of the nail.
  7. Create a short angled line with the black nail striper.
  8. Make a circle at the end of the angled line and draw lines extending from the circle. Now you have a cute palm tree, but make sure to let it dry.
  9. Go back to your other nails and coat them with the clear sparkly coat to add a starry effect. Do the same to the accent nail when it is dry.
Rock this nail look all summer long and even try out different designs such as dolphins for your accent nails. Remember practice makes perfect and remember to prevent any chips with an amazing top coat. Show off your mani girlies!

Swimsuit Series: Cut Outs

Blake Lively

Jennifer Lopez
Cut out one piece bathing suits are hot and have become increasingly popular throughout the past summers. The only reoccuring issuse with cut-out swimsuits is that some bodies spill out in the cuts out and are not flattering. Blake Lively's sleek black one piece cut out is perfect for very slim girls who have small to medium sized breasts. The suit adds curves and covers the chest while still accentuating them. Jennifer Lopez's cut out one piece is great for girls with curves and fuller figures. When you have bigger breast a suit that dips low in the front is not for you because of the major chances of falling out of the suit. I love that Jennifer's suit covers all her chest while still showing off her body. The gold accent and covered bottom makes her waist look super small and take the attention. Each suit accentuates a special body part and does not let anything hang out, but still be sure to try on a swimsuit before making a purchase.

Swimsuit Series: Retro Look

Selena Gomez
Beyonce
Today is my first day of summer and decided to kick it off with a swimsuit series! I am si readt to hit the beach and the pool, but all I need is a super cute bathing suit. The bething suit styles being sported by Beyonce and Selena Gomez give a retro vibe although they still have very modern assests. Selena Gomez's bathing suit is in a gorgeous color and th two piece is not making her overflow out the top or back. The dip of her bikini top is the same type of dip as retro swimsuits as wel as the bow. The bow on her bikini top is also a little trick to making the bust appear bigger. Beyonce's suit is retro also because of the dip in the top and the flowy peice that hits right at the waist. Even though  Beyonce's suit is a one peice, it still shows off her curves and super fit body. I love that Beyonce accessorizes her suit with a small gold necklace and cocktail ring. Any swimsuit picture of Beyonce she still wears jewelry which is super cute, just make sure the rings are tight and necklaces clasped!

Which retro swimsuit is your fave?

Must Have Friday: Girly Girl Vibes

My Must Haves

I declare this Friday to be Must Have Friday! There are always new items catching my eye and as you can see I am definitely into accessories at the moment. Rose golds and soft, but bright colors that give off a romantic girly feel kept grabbing my attention. I am especially digging the ear cuff and the floppy hat! Although I am not going to go out and purchase all these items, it is still fun to browse at the things you like.

What are some of your must haves?

Fashion Fix: Lea Michele

Lea Michele
Lea Michele made jaws dropped when she sported this tight revealing dress to the David Letterman Late Night show. I saw thousands of love it or leave it survey outfits, but I think why not fix it. Instead of bashing an outfit with a poll, the best thing is to find a way to make it look better. Lea's dress is the perfect lenght and great color against her skin tone. The only part of the dress that takeas away from the entire look is the maximum cleavage and the strap across her chest. As I went through dozens of pictures of Lea Michele I noticed that she loves a cut out and to show off her chest, however there is a way to show it off without being so literal. The strap is the first thing to go and extra fabric to cover some of her clevage needs to be added. A sweetheart neckline or a smaller v-neck would be best to show off her chest.  Everyone other part of Lea's outfit is on point from th hair and make-up to the shoes and accessories.

What is your fashion fix?

Billboard Awards Beauty and Fashion

Miley Cyrus
Carrie Underwoods

Jordin Sparks
Katy Perry
Zooey Deschanel
Now the Billboard Awards are definitely more casual than most awards shows and holds a room full of young and hip stars. The outfits for the Billboard Awards go from princess gowns to funky tights and sneakers. Personally I love watching the award show's red carpet to discover new party styles, popular color schemes, and gorgeous beauty looks. Miley Cyrus was very revealing at the award show, but her beauty look was even more striking! I love the tousled hair, thick eyebrows, long lashes, and glossy lips, very Marilyn Monroe-esque. Carrie Underwood went total princess decked out in jewels and lots of pinks and purples. Carrie's look is a complete dream fit with magical wavy hair. Jordin Sparks' look is my favorite from head to toe. The lace dress is trendy while still be dressy and casual at the same time as well as her cute side pony and accessories. Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel's outfits were not on my top list, but I love their use of glitz and glam while still keeping a low key vibe. They are definitely trendsetting with the light, diamond colors and sparkling shimmer and glitter.

What are your fave beauty and fashion from the 2012 Billboard Awards?

Get The Look: Summertime Perfection

Miranda Cosgrove in Teen Vogue

I received my Teen Vogue magazine in the mail today and I am completely mesmorized by Miranda Cosgrove's cover look. Miranda has the total summer look with a nude, bronzed glow and slick hair. The white shades and dress give a gorgeous contrast to her tanned skin making her stand out. This look is great to look fresh during the summer while still having a fierce vibe. All you need to recreate the look is a great foundation, bronzer, nude gloss, eyeshadow(that matches your brows), and for the hair a light hair gel.
  1. Begin with a clean face and conceal any blemishes.
  2. Apply foudation all over the face. Make sure it goes on smooth with no streaks.
  3. Take the bronzer and apply it like blush. Start at the lower apples of your cheeks and into your temples. Blend to prevent harsh lines.
  4. Fill in your brows and create definition by using an eyeshadow close to your brow color.
  5. Apply a nude gloss and 2 coats of mascara.
  6. Apply a gel or serum throughout the hair and comb it backwards for a slick and sleek hair look.

Get The Look: Sofia Vergara

Byline: EROTEME.CO.UK.Sofia Vergara arriving her hotel in Soho New York.
Look #1
Look #2
Sofia Vergara definitely shows a love of colorful scarves and a super cute bright yellow bag. Sofia is not only showcasing a great fashion tip of dressing up a white but her outfit is a perfect look to recreate. In Look #1 Sofia wears a sheer, loose white tank top that contrasts with dark wash skinny jeans. I love that she cuffed the jeans to show off her fabulous pumps and threw on a colorful scarf that matches her bracelets. The yellow bag is a perfect pop of color and big enough to hold any nessecary items. Look #2 has to be my favorite because Sofia took a basic white tee an paired it with gorgeous wide leg jeans which may even be considered casual trouser pants. Once again Sofia added a bright scarf and her neon yellow bag. She added more accessories like a long statement necklace, chuncky bracelets, and a cocktail ring. Sofia Vergara is definitely rocking a simple look and making it fabulous and chic!

Alert: I'm In Seventeen Magazine!!

I am majorly, extremely, off the walls excited! I received my June issuse of Seventeen magazine yesterday and as I flipped through I saw my nail design. I was super surprised because I didn't know my nails would be featured for the #YOLO article and when I saw it I immediately pulled out my phone to compare the hands. They were an identical match! Ahhh! I am just soooo happy, even if it is just my hand, I always knew my nail designs would be featured somewhere! I have 100% faith that next time it will definitely be a full body and maybe even an article! A little dream of mine is to be in the Seventeen Magaine style council and even one day have my own fashion and beauty magazine! What are some of your dreams or goals? Be sure to take a look at page 148 to see the picture of my YOLO nails!

Love Her Look: Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus shows off her new haircut in a pair of high waisted jeans and a red blazer while out for lunch with a friend. The Disney star, who is reportedly dating actor Liam Hemsworth, looked upbeat as she rocked a pair of round sunglasses on her way to the car.
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus' style is evolving more and more and she grows in age and this style has got to be my favorite. I have noticed how much Miley loves to wear high-waisted jeans and shorts, vintage band tees, and fitted strapless tops. If there were ever a chance to have Miley's closet I would definitely want to be the first to win! Miley's acid wash jeans are taking it back to the late 80's and early 90's while still holding a modern edge because the acid look is back in. I love that she tucked in the futted black top and how it fits and covers her chest just the right way. The red blazer is a perfect accent to the entire look and pulls the outfit together and adds a pop of color. Donlt forget her new signature circle shades that give off a cool quirky vibe.

Fashion 101: Rock the Maxi Dress

Lauren Conrad
Jessica Alba Clothes
Rachel Bilson
The maxi dress is sometimes a difficult piece to wear because it can either look too long and baggy or resemble a pajama dress. The best ways work a maxi dress start off with your own posture and overall look. Be sure to stand up straight so that the dress elongates your body rather than shorten it. You also want to be aware of having your hair combed and face cleaned to prevent a "just got out of bed" look. Now that is all taken care of  begin by adding an accessory to your maxi to help cinch your waist. Lauren Conrad cinched her waist by using a thick black ribbon while Rachel Bilson threw on a jean vest that ended right at her waist. A great pair of wedges or flat strappy sandals work well with maxi dresses because they help lengthen you out even more and wedges prevent the dress from dragging. Don't forget to add personal touches to make the maxi your own and rock it on casual sunny days!

Fashion 101: Structured Rompers

Solange Knowles

Solange Knowles is totally rocking that romper and it's perfect any day out. I have never seen a structured romper, but Solange's is amazing and fits a sleek frame extremely well. The color of the romper is a greeat color for summer because it acts as a neutral and can be accesorized with pops of color. The small, gold belt gives a hint of sparkle to the outfit while the shoes add a Grecian mood. The perfect dose of oomph was added into the outfit by adding a birght red bag. Solange has got the spring/summer casual look down and trendsetting with her structured romper. Try out a romper look lady and don't forget to accessorize!

Fashion 101: Neon Color Pops

Khloe Kardashian

Fergie Fergie wears a short black dress and neon green heels as she leaves the Trump Hotel in NYC. Her bodyguard Pascal, who can be seen walking behind her, was reported to have helped a sick man on a flight from New York to LA back in May.
Fergie
Elle Fanning
Neon is a hot trend for spring and summer, but there are some people who have a fear of such bright colors. However there are very clever ways to work around a bright pink dress and instead wearing pops of neon in your accessories. Bright purses, shoes, and necklaces are subtle but also make a nice statement. I love how each celebrity in the photos above wore a neon bag and I especially love the peek-a-boo neon in Fergie's clutch. A neon bag looks great with any outfit, even if your outfit already contains neon. For a night out, Fergie's outfit is perfect, she stayed classic with a little black dress and added some oomph by pairing it with neon heels, jewelry, and a clutch. Try it out and sow how you rock neon colors in your looks!

Get the Look: Kendall Jenner Chic and Sweet

Kendall Jenner
I am loving Kendall Jenner's hair and make-up, it is totally chic while still having a hint of sweetness to stay age appropriate. My favorite parts of the look have to be the face framing curls, the luscious lashes, and the gorgeous lips. All you need for the makeup look is matte foundation, red lipstick that fits you perfectly, lengthening mascara, and black eyeliner. For the hair all you need is a good serum to add shine and a bit of texture, a curling iron, and a ponytail holder and bobby pins.

Make-up
  1. Begin with a clean face and apply a matte foundation. Use a powder with a little shimmer to add some sparkle.
  2. Line your lids with black liquid liner and wing it out for a slight cat eye. Apply your mascara as well.
  3. For a more dramatic eye look, add some false lashes to your top lids that are long and thick.
  4. Put primer on your lips so your lipstick will look brighter and stay on longer. Apply your red lipstick.
  5. Cover up any mistakes by using concealer.
Hair
  1. Begin by brushing out your hair and sectioning off your bangs.
  2. Smooth a shine serum into the rest of your hair and pull it into a loose ponytail. Make sure the hair remains smooth, but not too slick.
  3. Now swirl the ponytail into a loose bun. You can also change it up with a top knot or your own favorite bun style.
  4. Go back to your bangs and part them into a center part. Be sure to spray them with heat protectant.
  5. Wrap your bangs around the curling iron to create a loose spiral curl.
Try out this look for a special occassion or leave it a little messy for an everyday look. Remember to practice to get the look just right and wear a pretty pair of earrings to show off your ears.

Hair 101: Maintaining Curly Q's

Rita Ora
Rita Ora along with other curly haired stars such as Taylor Swift have learned how to control and manage curly manes. I believe in wearing your natural hair texture out a least 50% of the time because whats naturally given to you usually looks best. A good bit of the world population has curly hair wether its loosely coils, lots of spirals, or a complete frizz ball. No matter what type of curly hair you have there are a few tips on how to manage, control, and keep your hair looking healthy and fabulous.
  1. Get a trim every 6 weeks! Curly hair especially needs to be trimmed every 6 weeks because the ends get dry and brittle faster and tend to break off. Scraggly ends are not attractive.
  2. Condition and Moisturize! Be sure to deep condition your curly hair at least twice a month to retain moisture in the hair. Whenever you wash and condition leave a very small amount of conditioner in the hair to stay.
  3. Never towel dry! Never wrap a towel around your hair after you wash and this tip is not just for curly hair. Rubbing a towel against wet hair is the first step to creating a major frizz ball of hair.
  4. Invest in a wide tooth comb! Don't even try brushing curly hair or attempting to comb through it with a small tooth comb. A brush will create frizziness and small comb will get stuck in the hair and do nothing to help detangle.
  5. Try out products specifically for curly hair! Lots of hair product brands are beginning to produce products made specifically for certain hair types which is a major plus for everyone. A product made for curly hair will ony help make your curls look even better.
The bottom line here is that the best thing for curly hair is to keep it moisturized and conditioned because curly hair can get so dry. Remember to get trims every 6 weeks, lay off the heat, and keep the hair detangled. Work your gorgeous curly hair chica!

Fashion and Beauty: Met Ball 2012

Karolina Kurkova
Solange Knowles
Coco Rocha

Beyonce

Camilla Belle

The Met Ball for 2012 took place on May 7th and it was full of models, celebrities, and other successful people in gorgeous, daring gowns and suits. The Met Ball takes place in New York, New York and ultimately celebrates the  opening of the fashion exihibit at the fashion center in the  Metropolitan Musuem. The event is hosted by Vogue which calls for major fashion risks and drop dead beauty looks.

My top 5 personal picks are pictured above, I was completely in love with the risk taking outfits with my fave being Karolina Kurkova's form fitting, glittery gown. I am in love with her matching turban! Karolina tops off the look with striking poses and a fierce face. Solange Knowles rocked it in a yellow abstract gown that made her body look amazing and the yellow makes her glow beautifully. Coco Rocha caught my eye by wearing a suit paired with silk shoes and a bright pink top. The suit accents were perfect for an extra dazzle. I am used to seeing Beyonce super glammed up, but this dress is showing off everything, feathers and all! I love Beyonce's dress especially since she did cover up her top half with a nude body suit, she knows how to show off her body while keeping it classy and fashion forward. Lastly I had to pick Camilla Belle who looks gorgeous especially with her dark brown lips and pulled back her. Camilla took the most daring beauty look and didn't forget to pick out a dress that looks amazing on her body .

What are your Met Ball 2012 picks?

Anyone would kill to know the secret formula for Adriana Lima's super sultry, golden make-up. I love how the make-up makes her eyes pop and her peachy nude lipstick gives her lips the perfect pout.
