My Favorite Emmy 2012 Gowns

Now I have to be honest I did not watch the Emmy's, but I did watch the red carpet fashion. The top colors of dresses ranged from sea blues, glittering colors, purples, and tangerines. The designs went from fitted forms, to draping, and sexy slits. My top faves were Ginnifer Goodwin, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Hayden Panettiere. Ginnifer took an abstract patteren design, while Sofia and Heidi  had their own versions of sexy looks, and Hayden went into complete goddess mode. All the gowns were jaw dropping! Flared jeans are back in style and taking the place of only wearing skinny jeans 24/7. Flared jeans comein such a variety, they can go from retro 70's style to just a slight flare to show off nice peep toe heels. There is even a skinny flare style of jean that mixes skinny jeans and flare jeans together, Alessandra Ambrosio's jeans are the best example of this style. Flared jeans work on all body types, a wide flare is great for tall girls while a more slimming flare works for short girls. A higher rise flare jeans shows off hips and creates lovely curves. You don't have to just get flared denim, flared trousers and pants also look fabulous for work and special occassions.

The newest upcoming color trend is all shades of coral. Coral is a branch off color of orange and often a color that reminds people of the beach. Coral can be seen as the lip color of Emmy Rossum, the soft lightness of Lauren Conrad's skirt, or even solid and bright like Sofia Vergara's gown. At the moment I even have coral on my nails as a polish! Coral can be incorporated into make-up and beauty as a nail polish, lipstick, and even as a blush or eyeshadow.  As for clothing, coral is a beautiful color for jeans and skirts or as a cute top. I personally would love to have a bright coral top handle bag to carry around for the rest of summer and even for fall. Coral is such a versatil color that I predict the trend to carry on into fall in lighter, more subtle shades.

Sofia Vergara definitely shows a love of colorful scarves and a super cute bright yellow bag. Sofia is not only showcasing a great fashion tip of dressing up a white but her outfit is a perfect look to recreate. In Look #1 Sofia wears a sheer,loose white tank top that contrasts with dark wash skinny jeans. I love that she cuffed the jeans to show off her fabulous pumps and threw on a colorful scarf that matches her bracelets. The yellow bag is a perfect pop of color and big enough to hold any nessecary items. Look #2 has to be my favorite because Sofia took a basic white tee an paired it with gorgeous wide leg jeans which may even be considered casual trouser pants. Once again Sofia added a bright scarf and her neon yellow bag. She added more accessories like a long statement necklace, chuncky bracelets, and a cocktail ring. Sofia Vergara is definitely rocking a simple look and making it fabulous and chic!
