Hair 101: Braided Bun

Nicole Richie
Summer is a time to get your hair out of your face, try out new hairstyles, and transform your hair to being healthier.Nicole Richie always sports the cutest hairdos and I am especially loving this braided style that goes back into a sidebun. It so easy to recreate especially on a bad hair and all you need are bobby pins, a comb or brush, and a ponytail holder.
  1. Begin by detangling your hair and  all to one side.
  2. Make a thick french braid on the side of your head close to your edges going to the ends of your hair. Be sure to braid loosely.
  3. Take your hair and swirl it into a loose, messy bun at the back of your head. Secure with bobby pins.
  4. Create a more messy look by playing with the bun and the braid. A carefree look is perfect for summer.
French Braiding Quick Tips
The best way to french braid is to take three medium sized peices of hair and cross them over each other in equal amounts of time. Add in an extra piece of hair to the original three sections to make the braid into a french braid.

Remember practice makes perfect and to be patient when trying new hairstyles. Rock this look for a carefree and fun vibe, even on the worst hair day!

Swimsuit Series: Cover-Ups

Summer Additions

A great cover-up is needed for the walks to and from the beach or pool. I am super in love with using rompers as cover-ups beacause they hide both the bottom and top halves of your body. Rompers are very loose, flowly, and easy to take off so right into the water. A long sheer blouse is also perfect as a cover up because they are usually long enough to stop around the bottom area and look super chic. The easiest cover-up is probably already in your closet because it is just a simple loose t-shirt. A loose t-shirt goes well right over a swimsuit top and it gives extra use to the everyday t-shirt. Don't forget cool additions to your swimsuit like a lovely fedora or floppy hat and of course...Sunscreen!

DIY Nails: Midnight Summer Silhouette

I am in love with my summer-y nails complete with a palm tree accent. This nail tutorial is inspired by the late nights of summer, sun sets, and calming palm trees. All you need to create this nail look is a blacck nail striper, sparkly clear, dark blue, orange, neon teal, and purple nail polish. Be sure to have nail polish remover and a clear top and base coat handy!
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear base coat.
  2. Take the purple polish and paint one-third of your nail starting from the cuticle.
  3. Immediately take the orange polish and paint a little over the purple polish and the middle section of your nail. Be sure to let the colors blendd together.
  4. Take the blue polish and paint a little over the orange all the way to the tip. Let the colors blend and fade into each other in an ombre effect.
  5. While the nails are drying begin on your accent nail by painting it a neon teal. Be sure to let it dry.
  6. Take the black nail stripers and make a thick line at the tip of the nail.
  7. Create a short angled line with the black nail striper.
  8. Make a circle at the end of the angled line and draw lines extending from the circle. Now you have a cute palm tree, but make sure to let it dry.
  9. Go back to your other nails and coat them with the clear sparkly coat to add a starry effect. Do the same to the accent nail when it is dry.
Rock this nail look all summer long and even try out different designs such as dolphins for your accent nails. Remember practice makes perfect and remember to prevent any chips with an amazing top coat. Show off your mani girlies!

Swimsuit Series: Cut Outs

Blake Lively

Jennifer Lopez
Cut out one piece bathing suits are hot and have become increasingly popular throughout the past summers. The only reoccuring issuse with cut-out swimsuits is that some bodies spill out in the cuts out and are not flattering. Blake Lively's sleek black one piece cut out is perfect for very slim girls who have small to medium sized breasts. The suit adds curves and covers the chest while still accentuating them. Jennifer Lopez's cut out one piece is great for girls with curves and fuller figures. When you have bigger breast a suit that dips low in the front is not for you because of the major chances of falling out of the suit. I love that Jennifer's suit covers all her chest while still showing off her body. The gold accent and covered bottom makes her waist look super small and take the attention. Each suit accentuates a special body part and does not let anything hang out, but still be sure to try on a swimsuit before making a purchase.

Swimsuit Series: Retro Look

Selena Gomez
Beyonce
Today is my first day of summer and decided to kick it off with a swimsuit series! I am si readt to hit the beach and the pool, but all I need is a super cute bathing suit. The bething suit styles being sported by Beyonce and Selena Gomez give a retro vibe although they still have very modern assests. Selena Gomez's bathing suit is in a gorgeous color and th two piece is not making her overflow out the top or back. The dip of her bikini top is the same type of dip as retro swimsuits as wel as the bow. The bow on her bikini top is also a little trick to making the bust appear bigger. Beyonce's suit is retro also because of the dip in the top and the flowy peice that hits right at the waist. Even though  Beyonce's suit is a one peice, it still shows off her curves and super fit body. I love that Beyonce accessorizes her suit with a small gold necklace and cocktail ring. Any swimsuit picture of Beyonce she still wears jewelry which is super cute, just make sure the rings are tight and necklaces clasped!

Which retro swimsuit is your fave?
