DIY Nails: Party Rocking Mani

I've been missing having glitz and sparkles on my nails so I had to go all out glam with my nail look for the week. The best thing about this nail look is goes with girly, edgy, and glam styles and adds fun to both dressy and party looks. I feel like such a little diva with my nails in this sparkly look, plus it will be great since I have two special events this week, a Beta induction and a band concert. The ombre effect gives this nail look it's trendy vibe and I even used a new technique to create the cool effect. All you need to create this nail look is a sponge, a clear base and top coat, any color nail polish, and a glitter nail polish.
  1. Start with clean nails and apply a clear base coat. This will allow your polish to stay on longer and keep your natural nails clean and strong.
  2. Take your sponge and lightly dab the polish across the tip of the sponge and dab it along one of your nails. Bee sure your tip is completely covered with the polish and lightens up as you go closer to the nail bed.
  3. Repeat step two for each nail.
  4. Apply  glitter nail polish to your entire nail for a glam, sparkly look to give your nails a fun party look.
  5. Apply a clear top coat and allow your nails time to dry.
This nail look is so fun and pretty and you can make it even more unique by adding designs over the ombre or different nail combos! Let me know in comments below if you try out the nail look.

DIY Nails: Simple Skull and Ombre

I am so in love with my cute and simple ombre nails with a skull accent. I decided since it's the first day of October, I might as well get the Halloween theme going! I didn't want to do an extremely detailed design just because I wanted something that doesn't take a lot of time and isn't going to chip right off. Also, I'm not into scary creatures so I wanted to just stick with a Tim Burton like skull. All you need to recreate this nail look are asilver glitter, black, white, and grey nail polishes as well as a black nail striper or thin brush.
  1. Begin with clean nails and a clear basecoat polished on your nails.
  2. Start by painting one of your nails white. This will help to let it dry before creating the skull.
  3. Move on to your other nails and polish the bottom 1/3 of your nail black.
  4. Take your grey polish and blend it with the black polish and polish the next third of your nail.
  5. Now take your white polish and finish off the tip.
  6. Take your silver glitter polish and paint over the white. This will give the white a more grey look and will be more sparkly and girly.
  7. For the white accent nail take your black nail striper or brush and slowy form a circle with a small gap at the bottom. This is the head of the skull.
  8. Draw 3-4 lines within the gap of the circle. These are the teeth.
  9. Use the brush or a dotting tool and create two small ovals for the skull's eyes.
  10. Wait for your nails to dry completely before applying a top coat, if not your nails will smear!
Your nails are now complete and Halloween chic! Let me know if you try out this nail tutorial or have your own special Halloween nail design.

OOTD: Ombre Down

This ootd was all about mixing summer color with fall basics. Fall is all about skinny jeans and long sleeves, while summer is about trying new trends and wearing lots of bold color. The entire outfit just makes me happy especially my pink ombre jeans and yellow, pink, and gold necklace.
The top is a long denim button down which I of course buttoned up and tucked in. This top has been featured in several of my ootd posts, but this is the first time I have ever worn it this way, it was time for something different. Since the top is just denim, I dressed it up with a beautiful necklace that somehow got stuck underneath my top, my bad! The necklace reminds of a chandelier because it tiers down with yellow and pink mixed with gold in an upside down triangle.

The jeans and shoes are the standout of the outfit. My mom actually got me these pair of jeans from JCPenney and I fell in love with them! They can be worn casually with a t-shirt or casually dressy like my outfit. The jeans add a bold flair and are unique since they are not all over color. The shoes help to lengthen my leg since they are tall and wedges and also because they are pink like the pants. The jeans and the shoes add a fun, bold, and unique flair!

DIY Nails: Midnight Summer Silhouette

I am in love with my summer-y nails complete with a palm tree accent. This nail tutorial is inspired by the late nights of summer, sun sets, and calming palm trees. All you need to create this nail look is a blacck nail striper, sparkly clear, dark blue, orange, neon teal, and purple nail polish. Be sure to have nail polish remover and a clear top and base coat handy!
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear base coat.
  2. Take the purple polish and paint one-third of your nail starting from the cuticle.
  3. Immediately take the orange polish and paint a little over the purple polish and the middle section of your nail. Be sure to let the colors blendd together.
  4. Take the blue polish and paint a little over the orange all the way to the tip. Let the colors blend and fade into each other in an ombre effect.
  5. While the nails are drying begin on your accent nail by painting it a neon teal. Be sure to let it dry.
  6. Take the black nail stripers and make a thick line at the tip of the nail.
  7. Create a short angled line with the black nail striper.
  8. Make a circle at the end of the angled line and draw lines extending from the circle. Now you have a cute palm tree, but make sure to let it dry.
  9. Go back to your other nails and coat them with the clear sparkly coat to add a starry effect. Do the same to the accent nail when it is dry.
Rock this nail look all summer long and even try out different designs such as dolphins for your accent nails. Remember practice makes perfect and remember to prevent any chips with an amazing top coat. Show off your mani girlies!

Fashion 101: Ombre Clothing

Naya Rivera
Ombre is everywhere from hair to nails and now clothing! I love the colorblocking trend, but I definitely see myself and many other fashionistas turning to an ombre clothing trend. Naya Rivera's black, blue, and white ombre dress is beautiful and I love how it amps up a typical dress style into so much more. Any color scheme could work with ombre such as pink to white oor even red to yellow. Ombre outfits can be created with different clothing pieces as well. Try pairing a white shirt with a colored bottoms and dark shoes or vice versa. An ombre outfit is very unique because it is such a contrast to colorblocking and much newer. Try it out and experiment with different fashion looks,

Hair 101: Ombre Hair Color

Raven Symone
Drew Barrymore
Alexa Chung
Hilary Duff
Ombre hair color is so cool and beautiful, definitely my favorite hair trend ever! I could not help but gather lots of pictures to share of ombre hair and the gorgeous ladies sporting the trend. All the women range in ages, color, and hair length, ombre hair color works for everyone. Raven Symone stays chic and straightens her hair which really shows off the dark color going into the nice honey brown. I love that she stayed in the brown shade and did not go all the way into a bright blonde. Drew Barrymore is such a risk taker, not only is her hair ombre but she has added in braids and waves. Drew is very cool and daring with her hair and extremely confident. Alexa Chung is showing all the short hair ladies that they can still have ombre hair color and still give off the same affect.  Hilary Duff looks gorgeous, her hair is in nice waves that aren't to clean cut which really lets her ombre hair color stand out.

What do you think about ombre hair color?

DIY Sparkly Ombre Nails

I am loving my nails! I practiced on a nail art wheel and created lots of nail designs and art until I was happy and statisfied. I became inspired to do this nail design after seeing pictures of nail stickers and I decided to recreate them. Nail stickers are great, but after a while the cost of buying them can add up and I'd rather create the design myself.  Ombre nails are actually very easy to do on both hands and can be done very quickly. The silver sparkle even adds more glam power! And don't worry you can use any nails polish colors to do this design.
  1. Grab a clear base and top coat, a sparkly nail polish, and two of the sma
  2. Begin by washing your hands and cleaning your nails with nail polish remover. Do this step even if you don't have on previous nail polish.
  3. Coat your nails with a top coat, this helps your polish to stay on longer.
  4. Polish the top to the middle of your nail with you darkest polish. Let it be a little bit messy when you get to the middle of your nail.
  5. Take your medium shade polish and brush it from the middle and let the color fade into the bottom. Mix it in with the dark polish to create a new color.\
  6. Use your sparkly polish and paint right by your cuticle and take it up to the beginning of the medium polish. Let it mix in with the medium polish to create a new sparkyl color.
  7. Let your nails dry for about ten minutes. Do not immediately put on your top coat, all the colors will run together and be ruined.
  8. After your nails are a little over halfway dry puton your clear top coat and contiue to let your nails dry.
  9. Now your nails are finished and look amazing
If it doesn't work out the first time remember be patient and  practice makes perfect chica!
