My Nail Polish Faves

Neutrals polishes are beautiful colors on all skin tones which is why they're some of my favorite nail polish colors. I like my neutrals in various shades browns and greys, sometimes deep blues and purples, because I love the subtleness and simplicity it gives my nails. The best neutral colors in my opinion come from the O.P.I. and China Glaze nail brands.

Every girl has to own at least one glitter nail polish. Glitter nail polish give you a touch of glam girliness whether the glitter covers your entire nail or is working as a top coat over a solid color. What I love is that glitter nail polish is great for an accent nail and work for any style. However, the downside to glitter is that it's tough to get off and requires an acetone nail polish remover. Sally Hansen and O.P.I have the best options for glitter nail polish.

Pink, orange, and red nail polishes are my top oils for bright spring and summer nail looks. Pinks are perfect for sprin and flower nail designs while reds are classic and can be bright enough to compete with the summer sun. Orange nail polishes are quirky cool because they are bright and different. I love getting my colorful polishes from all types of brands and always use a white base coat to make the colors appear brighter.

A nail file, clippers, cuticle cream, and an overall nail kit are a must if you want to keep your nails looking good. Never file your nails going straight across or attempt to make big changes with just a file, clip the nail first and use the file for adjustments while filing all in one direction. Clip your nails when they break to not case further breakage and chipping, don't ever use your teeth! A good cuticle cream will help to keep your nails feel and look smooth and super clean.

DIY Nails: Holiday Glitter Half Moons

Once again my nails are glittering and shimmering, but with two showstopping colors in a half moon design. This nail look makes me think of a glam holiday, it's so much fun and great to look at while I'm taking my exams! So many different different glitter combos are possible with this nail design, all you need to create the look are two solid  colors and two glitter polishes that are similar in color with the two solids. You will also need a clear base and top coat, nail polish remover, and about 2 Q-tips. Keep on reading for the steps to recreate my nail look.
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear basecoat.
  2. Take a solid purple polish and coat from the bottom half of your nail to the middle.
  3. Dip a Q-tip in nail polish remover and with windshield wiper motions, create a half moon of the purple polish.
  4. Take a solid brown polish and paint the nail starting from the edge of the purple half moons to the tips.
  5. Go back with a sparkly purple and with a careful hand apply it on top of the solid purple.
  6. Add a glittery gold on top of the solid brown polish.
  7. Use any color glitter striper and define the half moon.
  8. Let your nails dry, then apply a clear basecoat.
The solid nail polish colors help the nails to stand out and pop on your nails while the glitter gives the overall glam look. Let me know if you decide to try out this nail look in the comments below.

Fashion 101: Winter Leg Wear

Winter Pants

This winter season it is all about what's on thhe bottom of your outfit. Of course printed pants aare still in, but metallic pants, leather pants, darker colors, and shimmer shorts are taking over. These pants looks call for simple statement tops look peplums and graphic tees. You can even play down on your shoes by wearing basic flats, tennis wedges and boots. Metallic pants scream glam and are perfect for everyday and casual holiday parties. Leather pants are a darker, edgier version of metallic pants and give off a biker chick vibe while still being chic and slenderizing. The shimmer shorts are definitely cold weather appropriate, all you need are some amazing printed tights are stockings with colo prints or designs that make your legs look fun and unique while still feeling super warm!

DIY Nails: Party Rocking Mani

I've been missing having glitz and sparkles on my nails so I had to go all out glam with my nail look for the week. The best thing about this nail look is goes with girly, edgy, and glam styles and adds fun to both dressy and party looks. I feel like such a little diva with my nails in this sparkly look, plus it will be great since I have two special events this week, a Beta induction and a band concert. The ombre effect gives this nail look it's trendy vibe and I even used a new technique to create the cool effect. All you need to create this nail look is a sponge, a clear base and top coat, any color nail polish, and a glitter nail polish.
  1. Start with clean nails and apply a clear base coat. This will allow your polish to stay on longer and keep your natural nails clean and strong.
  2. Take your sponge and lightly dab the polish across the tip of the sponge and dab it along one of your nails. Bee sure your tip is completely covered with the polish and lightens up as you go closer to the nail bed.
  3. Repeat step two for each nail.
  4. Apply  glitter nail polish to your entire nail for a glam, sparkly look to give your nails a fun party look.
  5. Apply a clear top coat and allow your nails time to dry.
This nail look is so fun and pretty and you can make it even more unique by adding designs over the ombre or different nail combos! Let me know in comments below if you try out the nail look.

Outfit Of The Day: Summer Florals

Floral jeans and a denim button up are staple items in my wardrobe right now. They can both be worn seperately with a completely different look, or in this summery casual look I am wearing above. This outfit is perfect for a day that is not extremely hot, but it is still very warm. It is also very casual while still being a bit daring and super trendy!

I always toggle between wearing my denim button up down or crop it up by tying it in the front. Either way works for the look , but for chose to tie it up to give a fun, carefree vibe. I paired a purple cami underneath to bring out the purple and pink flowers in my floral jeans.

My shoes are just everyday flats that sparkle in silver glitter! As you may have figured out, these are the same skinny jeans I wore in an earlier OOTD post, I just rolled them up to make them more heat appropriate. My jewlery consists of my favorite Betsey Johnson boyfriend watch, a flower ring, and a butterfly ring. Can you see my nails sporting the butterfly design as well?

If you would like to know where any of the items I am wearing are from just comment below!

DIY Nails: Glitter Tribal

I love tribal print nails, but everytime I attempted the style I always made one huge mess! However since I will never give up on anything, I tried once again with a much easier version and they actually came out how I wanted. All you need to recreate this nail look is a bright nail polish color and white, black, and glitter nail stripers. Don't forget a clear base and top coat to keep your nails looking great!
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a base coat to prevent polish from staining the nails.
  2. Paint the entire nail with any bright nail polish color. Let it completely dry before moving to the next step.
  3. Take the black striper and make a medium-sized horizontal line across eaach nail. Let it completely dry before moving to the next step.
  4. Take the white striper and make small connecting lines, almost like zigzags.
  5. Now for extra glitz take the glitter striper and make a horizontal line under the black line. Let it completely dry before moving to the next step.
  6. Once all the nail polish is dry, coat every nail with a top coat to prevent chipping. Be sure to let everything dry!
Remember practice makes perfect and be patient when trying out new nail designs. Rock the glitter tribal nails!
