Hair 101: Hair Chalking

Chloe Grace Moretz
Hair chalking is a fun andd unique way to add a pop of color to your hair without the commitment! I have seen pictures of celebrities such as Lauren Conrad and Chloe Grace Moretz sport daring hair streaks that make me ask the question, how do you do that?  I have done a ton of research and figured out exactly how to create the look! All you need is pastel chalk, hairspray, and a heat styling tool.
  1. Begin by wet your hair and sectioning off the peices of hair you want to color.
  2. Take your chalk and furiously, without breaking/pulling out the hair, rub the chalk along the peices of hair.
  3. Let the hair get about 50% dry and spray the peice with hair spray.
  4. Curl or flat iron your hair to seal in the hair color from the chalked peices.
Hair chalking is just that easy! Lighter colored hair has the best results with hair chalking, but darker hair can still be chalked. Be aware that some people have had their hair become extremely hard and hard to brush after hair chalking. The hair chalk will go away after 1 or 2 washes.
