Hair 101: Natural Curls

Corinne Bailey Rae
Solange Knowles
Esperanza Spalding
I have to share these pictures of beautiful celebrities showing off their natural curls and kinks. I love these hairstyles so much, the thickness and curl patterns just amaze me. The way each womans' natural hair is different makes me remember just how unique each person is in the world, even if it is just hair. Corinne Bailey Rae's curl are all in a more calm and relaxed  rippling state that frames her face very nicely. Solange lets her curls do their own thing, her hair is thick and super glossy. Esperanza Spalding represents natural style and hair tops it off. Esperanza's curls are combed out and big, she even adds a feather to accessorize her hair.  Embracing your natural hair is wonderful even if you do not have a head full of curls, its makes you unique and beautiful!

  1. I love natural curls. They give so much to a whole look. Those women look gorgeous and independant.

    Lots of love,

  2. I also love natural curves. I wish I had curves like these:) but I am happy with my hair too.

    best wishes from istanbul

  3. I am in love with Esperanza Spalding now. I had never heard of her before the Oscars and she did a beautiful job singing "What a Wonderful World".

  4. I love their natural curls and mine too. It truly does show how unique each of us are. It's nice to see women embracing their natural curls.

    P.S. Love the blog!!!

  5. i love when women of color let their hair be natural! the curls and kinks add flare and personality that is unique just to them...I wish i had hair like that...I love all three looks...but especially like solange...and i like the way esperanza adds the feathers, so funky
    thanks for sharing
