DIY Nails: Cheetah Girl Color

I decided to get a little animal print nail design on my nails, but I couldn't do it without adding some color! This nail design is actually very easy and even the most unsteady hands can achieve the look, all you need is a light nail polish color such as tan, three bright nail polish colors, and a black nail polish striper. Don't forget a base and top coat!
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear basecoat.
  2. Apply the base nail polish color. A tan or light grey color works best.
  3. Take one of your colorful nail polish colors and create a medium-size dot anywhere on the nail. Make sure it sits flat on the nail, not piled up.
  4. Continue adding colorful dots on your nails and let them dry. Be sure to keep them spaced out and seperated.
  5. Take you black nail striper and let the polish fall to the tip of the brush. Pat the polish around the colorful dots creating a cheetah print.
  6. Let the polish dry and seal it with a clear top coat.
*As you can see it the pictures I have a lot of polish on my cuticles, to fix that problem soak a Q-tip with nail polish remover and rub it in any areas where the polish is not supposed to be.

Remeber to be patient while trying out new nail designs and that practice makes perfect. Try out this fun nail design and feel cheetahlicious!

Get The Look: Miranda Kerr's Jumpsuit

Miranda Kerr
Jumpsuits are such a casual, chic all in one outfit and are perfect for warmer weather. I love Miranda Kerr's jumpsuit which is loose against her body, but still keeps her frame looking long and slim. An all black ensemble could become boring and dull, but Miranda kept the outfit fresh and fun with aa colorful bag and a jean jacket. Miranda's beauty look consists of very minimal make-up and her hair pulled back which helps to let the outfit stand out. Recreate Miranda's look by finding a neautral colored jumpsuit that suits your body with just a little bit of flowiness to it. Next add a cute jean jacket or even a cardigan over your jumpsuit, just in case it gets chilly, and a stand out bag. Don't forget to pull your hair out of your face and stay minimal with make-up and accessories. Try out the jumpsuit look ladies!

Confidence Booster #9

Amber Riley
Body image has a major impact on anyones confidence. Body image does not just deal with weight, but how a person sees themself in the mirror despite what everyone else thinks. The best confidence booster for dealing with body image is to spend time just looking at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that your are beautiful, smart, and unique, after a while you will begin to hear those words in your head everyday and it feels great. Also, find one body part that you love and find a way to make it stand out and look great. I love the Body Peace campaign that Seventeen Magazine is a part of which girls pose appropriately in their bikins with a pink peace sign showing on their favorite body part. I love this campaign because it is showing girls to love their skin their in, even celebrities like Glee's Amber Riley are a part of Body Peace. Remember to love the skin your in because everyone is beautiful.

I am no affiliated nor associated with Seventeen Magazine any way.All opinions of the Body Peace campaign are my own.

Love Her Style: Chloe Grace Moretz

Look #1
Look #2

Chloe Grace Moretz is a style crush of mine and I remember her as an actress back in the first Diary of  a Wimpy Kid movie. Chloe always has such unige quirks to her outfits, while still being super fashionable and chic. Chloe's beauty looks are always natural which is great because she is a teen star and it shows natural beauty is always best. Look #1 is a great for a formal occassion where you don't want to be too done up. Chloe's dress has a super cute print and the belt around her waist gives her frame a little bit more shape. Her shoes are simple, but scream chic to me, I am really into round toed heels lately! Look #2 is the perfect outfit for the spring and summer seasons. Chloe's monochromatic look is absolutely gorgeous against her skin tone and would also be a great look on anyone else. What really makes the look pop is her use of accessories, Chloe's hat and long statement necklace just add more coolness to th overall look. Don't forget her super cute peep toe heels which have a cute buckle accent on the side. Try out looks with unique quirks to have a little bit of Chloe Grace Moretz's style.

Hair 101: The Fishtail Braid

Leona Lewis

Nicole Scherzinger
The fishtail braid is a little bbit of an old trend, but is still being rocked by celebs and everyday girls. I have finally grown my hair out long enough to begin experimenting with lots of different hairstyle and I have fallen in love with t he fishtail braid. The fishtail braid is perfect because it looks good wether its sleek or messy, gets the hair off your face, and looks super unique, but is actually easy and quick to create! Leona Lewis creats a messy, laidback fishtail look while Nicole transform the normal high ponytail into a high fishtail. Fishtail braid your own hair by following the steps below, all you need is a brush, a ponytail holder, a rubber band and bobby pins.
  1. Begin my brushing your hair back or to the side, depending on where you would like your fishtail to lay, and secure with a ponytail holder.
  2. Seperate two sections of hair within your ponytail.
  3. Pull out a medium/small peice of hair from one of  your sections and cross it over to the opposite section. Repeat with the other section.
  4. Continue to do Step 3 until you have fishtailed as much hair as you would like.
  5. Secure the end with a ponytail holder or a rubber band and place bobby pins wherever necessary.
If any peices of hair fall out while your fishtailing your hair just push them back into the braid and spray them with hairspray. Fashion 101: Music Festivals

Vanessa at Coachella 2012
Kate Bosworth at Coachella 2012
Music festivals are all the rage during the spring/summer season and they are also the best place to let loose and be free. Music festivals usually have a an indie edge to them and because they are outside most of the time they also require some comfort. I am loving Vanessa's Hudgens outfit which she wore to Coachella 2012, a music festival, she kept her outfit stylish and majorly cool. The high wasited, acid wash shorts added chicness to her indi ensemble. Vanessa's crotchet top is very unique and looks super comfty and her fringe satchel bag is great for carrying anything you need during the day. Kate Bosworth is taking a more casual chic look at Coachella 2012 and wears dark wash cutoffs, a black tee, and a light throwover jacket. Kate's outfit is perfct for someone who doesn't have a lot of indie/bohemian attire and wants to still look trendy. I love that Kate's outfit is very simple but she makes it stand out with the detials in her jacket and her tan boots. Who knew boots could actually work with short shorts?! Don't forget to complete your music festival look you have to go a little au nautrale and rock the wavy hair and light make-up. Try out the look and head out to jamming music festival!

DIY Nails: Starburst Candy

I love painting my nails in bright, neon colors and have two different polishes on the same nail is perfect for me!  This is nail art design is actually inspired by the sunset and Starburst candy which called for a yellow and red-orange nail polish colors. I am always looking for ways to amp up my nail designs to another level so I also reversed the traditional french manicure. All you need to recreate this DIY nails look is 2 contrasting nail polish colors and a clear base and top coat.
  1. Begin with clean nails and coat them with a clear base polish.
  2. Paint your nails, concentrating near the nailbed, with the lighter nail polish color. Let the poish dry before moving to the next step.
  3. Take the darker nail polish color and begin painting at the tip of the nail downwards. Paint going in a semicircle around the nailbed.
  4. Let the nail polish dry and finish by coating the nails with a top coat.
  5. Clean up any extra polish by soaking a Q-tip with nail polish remover and rubbing around the edges of the nail.

Fashion 101: Texture Mix

Shay Mitchell
Shay Mitchell is not just a pretty little liar, she is also a fabulous fashionista! I love how Shay mixes texture in this outfit and makes it springtime perfect. The look is perfect for a warm, breezy day because the silk top allows for both warmth and coolness and the skirt shows off toned legs. Shay's skirt is super cute, the refelcting colors gives off a mermaid inspired look. Mixing textures is almost as easy as mixing prints, but there are still a couple key tips to getting it just right.
  •  Be sure that you don't pair two bold textures together, too much texture can be too over the top.
  • The best way to make a textured outfit flow is to seperate off peices by a belt like Shay Mitchell has done.
  • Try out a smooth texture mixed with a rough texture when you are first mixing textures and continuosly venture out to more daring combinations.
Try out some these tips to learn how to mix textures in your outfits. Remember to just experiment to find out what textures work together for you. Try it out for any occasion!

Hair 101: Hair Chalking

Chloe Grace Moretz
Hair chalking is a fun andd unique way to add a pop of color to your hair without the commitment! I have seen pictures of celebrities such as Lauren Conrad and Chloe Grace Moretz sport daring hair streaks that make me ask the question, how do you do that?  I have done a ton of research and figured out exactly how to create the look! All you need is pastel chalk, hairspray, and a heat styling tool.
  1. Begin by wet your hair and sectioning off the peices of hair you want to color.
  2. Take your chalk and furiously, without breaking/pulling out the hair, rub the chalk along the peices of hair.
  3. Let the hair get about 50% dry and spray the peice with hair spray.
  4. Curl or flat iron your hair to seal in the hair color from the chalked peices.
Hair chalking is just that easy! Lighter colored hair has the best results with hair chalking, but darker hair can still be chalked. Be aware that some people have had their hair become extremely hard and hard to brush after hair chalking. The hair chalk will go away after 1 or 2 washes.

Get The Look: Spring Lips

Lea Michele
I don't know about you, but I have a hard time wearing lots of make-up during the spring season. The weather can get hot and humid and allergies can cause the eyes to itch and water, not a good combo for a make-up look. For the spring season I am loving accenting the lips in bold lip colors, glosses, and stains and keeping the rest of the face simple. Lea Michele's look is perfect for spring and her lip color is bright, but goes great with her skin tone. I love that she does not completely forget her eyes by coating them in lengthening mascara. The only products you need to recreate Lea's look is a bold lip color and lengthening/thickening mascara.
  1. Begin with a clean, smooth face. Use concealer and foundation as neccessary.
  2. Take a rosy blush and apply it right to the apples of your cheeks and lightly into your temples.
  3. Curl your lashes witha an eyelash curler then coat your lashes with the lengthen and/or thickening mascara. Be sure to use at least 3 coats to make your lashes pop!
  4. Primer your lips with primer then glide your lip color across your lips. Be sure to wipe away any lipstick that went outside your lip line.
As for the hair, curl your hair into long, light waves and brush them all to one side. Secure the hair with bobby pins matching the color of your hair. Remember practice makes perfect and to be patient when trying out new beauty looks.

Hair 101: Change It Up

Rihanna
Rihanna
Rihanna
No matter how many cute hairstyles you come up with, the same old bob or blonde highlights seems to turn into a uniform and the time comes to change it up! The best example of someone who knows about changing up their hair has to be Rihanna, she's had more than 3 different hairstyles all within the first few months of 2012! Rihanna is a master of risk taking and change and the key is to loosen up and experiment. The best way to change out your hair is to research different styles and even make a collage of everything that catches your eye and think about all the styles you have had before. When you finally come to one or two choices , be sure to consult with your hairdresser because they can help figure out how much of a change to make your hair. A quick tip is to use clip-in hair or extensions if you are scared of coloring your hair or want extra length and think about your lifestyle before doing anything too darastic.
What is your hairstyle for the spring/summer season?

How-To: The Picture Perfect Pose

Kendall and Kylie Jenner
Everyone loves to have that one great photo of themselves in a perfect pose that looks completely natural and effortless, but why not have all your pictures come out that way? Try out these tips the next time you want a picture perfect pose.
  1. Stand up straight and tall! Standing up straight and tall prevents a slouchy, lazy look in your photograph and makes you appear taller.
  2. Tilt your head! Be sure to slighty tilt your head forward so the camera does not see up into your nose. It also will create more angles in your face which is great for a picture.
  3. Fix the details! You may be striking an amazing pose, but a wardrobe malfunction or an out of place hair can mess it all up. Be sure to check the little things right before you snap a picture.
  4. Relax! Shake out any tense muscles or nerves before striking your pose so you don't look too forced. Natural and effortless is always best.
  5. Smize! Tyra Banks is always telling girls to smize, smile with your eyes, and it definitely works. A sparkle in your eye makes your facial expression appear real and genuine. Think of something happy to create the perfect 'smize'.
  6. Confidence! Confidence is the best aspect of a picture perfect pose. Show your confidence while striking your pose and you will instantly stand up taller and appear happier and friendlier.
What are your tips for having a killer pose?

Outfit Of The Day: Modern Mod

Today's outfit of the day showcases a new mod style dress that I absolutely love. The dress came from Marshall's and is super comfortable and makes me feel great. The dress gives me a mod feel and even reminds me of dresses that Twiggy wore in her modeling days. I paired the dress with minimal accessories because I wanted to let the dress stand out, especially the black sides which give me more of an hourglass shape. I did wear a cute pair of oxfords with my dress, but I love going barefoot which explains why my feet are cutoff in the pictures. My beauty look consists of no make-up, but I did try out a new curly hairstyle which I pinned to the side. I love it for spring!
What do you think about my modern mod look?

Jourdan Dunn
I am in love with supermodel, Jourdan Dunn's skin! She has such a natural glow and smoothness to her skin which only enhances her make-up. Just about everyone wants skin just as gorgeous so here are some tips:
  1. Drink more water! Water hydrates the skin and will even help out with hair growth and your overall general health.
  2. Take your vitamins! Vitamins help to nourish you and give you back nutrients and minerals you may be lacking, there are even vitamins specifically for skin.
  3. Pull your hair back! It's great for your hair to generate natural oils to give it a nice shine, but it's not always great to lay on top of the skin. Try pulling your hair up or back away from your face.
  4. No make-up! Try going without make-up for at least one day each week and let your skin rest and rejuvenate.
  5. Make a routine! The best thing for staying on a good track to healthy, glowing skin is to make a routine. Wash your face, exfoliate, and moisturize should be included in your schedule.
  6. Keep your hands off! Don't touch all over your face because oils and bacteria will do major damage to your skin and cause breakouts.
  7. Listen to your skin! If your skin becomes dry from product lay off for a little bit and minimize the product use.
  8. Moisturize oil-free! Always use an oil-free moisturizers during the spring and summer season, no need for any extra oil on our faces.

Get The Look: Printed Pants

Look #1
Look #2
Printed pants have been on my radar lately! I am loving the use of print as a pant or jean opposed to only being used in a shirt or skirt. Printed pants may look a bit intimidating at first, but they actually work perfectly with any outfit and have an unexpected look. Look #1 shows a gorgeous Miranda Cosgrove sporting a mix of edgy and girly style. The use of a hat and glitzy accessories even add a quirky, glam vibe   The look is great for spring because of the flowly top and the blues and purples in the jeans. The print of the jeans add playfulness and "look at me" power. Look #2 is quirky, cool and looks nice on Beyonce. I love how the print of her pants take her look from being normal and the blazer puts it all together. A print of pants such as these could even work in different colors and still look great! We can't forget about Beyonce's use of a hat, rounded glasses and a beautiful baby.
What do you think about printed pants?

Prom Beauty Look: The Fancy Pony

Kim Kardashian

Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian
No one ever said a ponytail can't be fancy! Kim Kardashian especially can be seen sporting all types of fancy ponies at special events wether they are slicked back or have curl and volume. The fancy pony look can be used for someone wanting show off their face or a beautifully detailed dress. I am in love with the jewlery peice Kim added to her ponytail in the top photograph. Kim makes sure her hair is always nice and shiny before puling it all up  and back and the shimmery gold hair accessory makes her healthy hair and bronze make-up stand out. Pick up hair jewelry at any hair store or a store that carries beauty products. Demi Lovato shows that a little bit of a messy look can be fabulous. Curl your hair and create big waves before pulling your hair up into a ponytail which will create nice volume and bodyy just  like Demi's hair. Don't forget to add the earrings! Try out a fancy ponytail look for the prom or any other special occasion ladies, they're are both comfortable and fab!

Hair 101: The Wand

Isabelle Fuhrman
"The Wand" is becoming a popular hair untensil amongst tons of medium to long haired girls. Isabelle Furhman, pictured above, from the Hunger games is sporting a hairstyle that only a wand could accomplish. I love how her has very consructed coils while the hair is still loose and natural. The carefree wave look is becoming very "in" for spring/summer 2012.   The wand is basically a just a curling iron with no clamp that is bigger at the bottom and becomes smaller as it gets closer to the tip. The wand creates a spiral curl that is much looser than a normal curling iron and gives off more of a carefree wave. The wand comes in many different brands such as the one pictured below, although they may not all go by the name, The Wand.
Have you ever tried the Wand or a similar curling iron? How do you like the curls?
